Oscar Stegehuis has entered the Master and Servant 3D.

Challenge Page (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/masterandservant/view_entries.php?challenger=6237)

Latest Update: Modeling: anatomy

The plan was to post a few pictures a bit sooner but I had kind of a busy week. But,…… here is a picture explaining some of the things I consider during modeling of the torso. The focus is on the muscle leading from the chest to the arm and the bones that are close to the surface.

The first concept sketch of the basic idea. I’ll probable change the pose. All the little squares are nicotine patches. The girl will have a 90s ‘heroin chic’ look.
( by the way, this is my first entry here so, hello to you all )

I’ve changed the pose and gave her an outfit to make it a little bit less theatrical. (Left enough skin to show the patches.) I guess it’s going to be a bit of a problem making convincing hair because I never really done that (just done low poly ‘helmet-hair’ up to now)
For the render, I’ll try to make a bit of a dirty look, somewhat like the sketch, noisy and the dark areas bleeding through.

@Jonathan: Thanks Jonathan. Good luck with the president

@Overcontrast: Thanks, and in answer to your question:
That’s right, nicotine is her master, and she needs a lot of it, like an addict. In the second sketch, she didn’t even stopped smoking, despite of all the patches.

Another interpretation could be that she doesn’t want to stop smoking but just wants a lot of nicotine so she’ll puts on all of these patches. By doing this, artificially adding chemicals, she is controlling a certain process in her body, making her the master over her body. The patches being the servants, providing her with a chemical.

Your choice

(By a 90s heroin chic look I’m referring to a certain style that was used by fashion-photographers in the 90s where the models didn’t look glamorous but looked like junkies.)

great concept. If you wanted to be totally ludicrous, you could throw a pot of coffee in the background, and have some of that heavenly java brew in her other hand waiting to be drunk... but i think thats just me trying to make it look like i've got more to say other than just 'great concept'. Adding another 'master' would lose the focus.... soooo.... great concept!

I started modeling the head. No textures jet, just tried out a skin shader hence the scary upper right render. brrrrrrr

So, here’s a prescribed amount of poly- soup.

Glad you all like the idea, thanks :)

@Iricho: Spam Slam is an enlightening piece of work. I must try that myself sometime.

Good start!
I personally like the rendering in the top left corner.
The softness in the eye area (upper eyelid) is great. :applause:
