No hand made this time ! This is just a quick work in photoshop... If the girls want to know, yes it's me !
Ok, my concept will be a man with a little human above his head... The master is the one who is on the top... a kind of representation of hierarchy...
And we all have someone above us or someone in our mind who control us...

Yes, we all have those voices in our head controlling us. Very annoying! Great concept. Good luck. Claireabella

Haha... that's cool to see you... I was afraid, I believed that you resembled to your avatar??? but finally you have a real athletic body... :scream:
I like a lot your idea... that make me feel a bit to the man (I forget the name...) in the movie Total recall... but the second body was in his belly... that's different. Anyway, it's very original... vas-y Gilles... à donf

Photoshop is my esthetic surgery ! :)
...in the movie Total recall... but the second body was in his belly...
Yes it gives me the inspiration ! But I don't think that it would be so understanding if I do it like that. modeling the master above the head of the servant will be better...

Hi everyone... I didn't do any update because I was working on Zbrush... ( Another one, Damn ! it's a revolution my friends !)
Ok,ok, I test it because I wanted to know how powerful is that soft and it is ! I'm just in a phase of testing and I will use it in my workflow for that challenge... Just a screenshot of my first test in Zbrush. Modeling process at this time...
See U soon Guys !
It is time for me to begin and model my character... :D

Thanks a lot guys !
Let's see !
Lemog Thanks a lot my friend ! This is not some kind of sect or a religion ! U do not play with your life if you don't use ZB ! But it seems to be a cool tool which can help us to create very quickly !
Neliox Thanks man ! I love my concept too ! ;) The only thing I have to do now is to continue ! Yes details will be added in ZB and I think that I could do texture too...
Virtuoso Hey ! Thanks man ! That's my way ! Have fun !

Hi again all... I'm testing the Zsphere modeling... This is the begining but in few minutes, that's what I've got ! I think I should continue on that soft and learn more !
I have to tweak some proportions...

It goes slowly because I do not have too much time !
I'm continuing playing with ZB. I think I should go to Maya to model but I want to stay in ZB for that challenge... Learning by force, or servant of the software ! ;)

Thanks all !
Ok the next step will be to model each part seperatly... I found that doing this in one mesh is not easy... shoes, pants and body... Maybe I will seperate body of the man and his "master" and use unified skin in ZB... Let's see

gpepper ...u could try model everything in ZB my friend by masking (hiding areas )....and working more where u want to focus....there is always a way if u are determined to learn it better(ZB)....:)

Yeah I understand Dim ( ctrl+shift clic) but this is not the reason why I'm planning to do things separatly...
The reason is that it could be better to texture, better to place and then I could do changes on each part and delete them if I want, or redo them without doing it to other parts...
But I have to remodel my model because he is not in pose for the moment, and my model is in adaptive skin, so I can't deplace the mesh correctly... It is better to place and give the pose to the model with Zsphere before transforming it in adaptive skin...

Ok, I know, I told few days ago that I want to do everything in Zbrush... I see some of U smiling :)
But I don't want to do another unfinished challenge ! The basic model and the pose will be made in maya and the detail in Zbrush... I don't know yet if I render this in maya or Zbrush...

For sure, combining Maya and ZB should be cool, if I could do what I've planed to do ! I restarted my mdelisation because of the poor practice I have in ZB... I started working on it until next week and it's hard to do what I want for the moment... So let's see how it goes...

The head is now finished, but I have now to add more detail to the whole body and then tweak geometries to have the look that I want to give to the character. Then I had to put the master at the top of the head of the servant !

I'm so happy to see your art man... beautiful pants for an incredible man... for the man... I don't like so much the shader... that seem to much velvet, it's pretty well on small parts like ears, fingers, etc... but on massive part... that seem a bit strange... but maybe it's only a personal taste... anyway, you're way and your project is very interesting, and I'm now sure you can finish this challenge, and that's hyper génial for me and for all of us... continue like that

Hi!
Here's a test render of my displacement map in Maya... I didn't find something cool with MR. So I test Turtle. But my uvset seems to be awful. I had some borders which look bad when I turn displace scale to far... Probably I will have to redo my uv...

Moving along quite nicely pfeiffer......very far fetched and imaginative as well as bizzare creation.....The modeling is done real well....the intergration of the two characters done seamless from what I can see.......It's coming towards the finishline....and your doing just what you set out to do......I wish you the best in getting these final touches done just as you hope.......Keep it going as you are....I'll be looking in to see how you do.....Best to you Pfeiffer....:arteest:

I hope you have some good result with Turtle... and also no limitations as me... Turtle is a good renderer... I like it for specific things.
And on your pant, the result is a bit... strange, it appear very flat... I sure you can find the good solution. :bounce: A fond Gilles... c'est bien de faire de nombreux tests en même temps que le concours, j'espère quand même que tu arriveras à aller jusqu'au bout... car ton sujet vaut vraiment le coup... and I want to see your character(s) finish :buttrock:

I was trying Turtle because my computer isn't to fast to render the displacement in time. Turtle is faster than MR... But I had problems with my mapping which is an automatic mapping... Borders are to small so the mesh give strange displacement... You are right, When i had time to work I spend it doing tests ! Maybe I should guve the pose to my character and export it in Zbrush and finish it in this soft...
T'inquietes, je vais finir, même si je dois passer la dernière semaine à ne faire que ça !

I started texturing the pants. I had few problems in Zbrush with my computer. It isn't potent enough to set very high resolution and some of my part need more details like wrinkles on the face or bumpfabric on the pants ! I also choose to model in Maya and go to Zbrush, but I've done very ugly uv set and texturing is a bit hard I've got good result painting directly on the surface cause projection master makes me strange things...

Pants look great, but kind of look like they are 2d, unless that is what you wanted. Maybe its the blurred dirt mark that make it look 2d, if your not going for 2d? Great job none the less, keep it up:thumbsup: .

Looks great. One thing is maybe you could put mroe feeling in the face, the feeling in it looks kind of like he is doing a bad job at acting. I think it is because the eyes look to relaxed to look angry. Don't know if it's too late but maybe the eye on our right would look better. Keep going, time is almsot out. Good luck.

I agree with you, eyes appears a little bit hard... but I don't think they're visible to closed... then, you can certainly keep like that... and eventualy, correct it at the end in photoshop... remain you some work... more important to finish your picture Gilles... come on ! and faster ! :scream:

another test of texture... I recreate the UV in Zbrush and give the character a 4096x4096 texture. He needs this !
This texture can help me to create areas where specular can be higher or not... This is a test render but some reflect artifact makes me angry !

Thanks Ludo and GI ! My Zbrush is rendering a part of the composition, upper layer, 45 minutes to go... The lower layer will come soon. Then I should have to compose this in Photoshop, give more depth, maybe some fur if I manage to do nothing with fiber brush in zbrush...

Thanks Laurent ! Level complete for sure ! This was my point to reach ! And I managed to it with Zbrush, and this was one of my wants !
Now I have to be more productive to do better images and more complex scene ! But I knew when I entered the challenge that my time would be short to complete this composition that's the reason why I did not manage to do more !
For the very HUGE image I stole your copyright ! ;) Doing very High resolutions is your signature ! A sort of Tribute to Laurent Antoine Lemog
