Here comes a first sketch i feel little bit pressed so i had to come up with something, from the beggining i said that is was going be religion inspired but as always i change my mind, even this maybe just one of my ideas and i am not sure i will stick to this but anyway...i feel that i want to have the contrast from rich and poor.....one first idea and we will see..........sorry for my bad sketch i know that painting isn´t my good side....

AND THE STORY:

Anabell has been homeless sence she was four years old hear both parents died in the war and Anabell started from a very young girl to learn how to survive not only because she needed food for the day but also she had to protect her self from the night and anything that comes with it and in this way she has become a very strong and
undepended woman. Her dream is to save enough money in any way that her goodness promit her , and start to build a house for all the homeless children that she see every day with the same pain in their eyes that always remind hear of the past, the past that has been full of suffering and sadness. This dream makes
her more strong to continue the life that has been so unfair to her.

In Anabells eyes you can see the servant, and her master is the...... LIFE ......untill her dream becomes true!!!

IS HEAR DREAM GOING TO COME TRUE?...................

I am still thinking if i will make something different because this is not very original, and in this case the expressions of the two characters is the most important and i hope i can achieve this resault............. anyway with the right enviroment and details i think this can be a good scene.......

TheFirstAngel
03-26-2005, 05:14 PM
The sketch so far looks fine, for a first glance. if you want to have more weight on the expressions, you might try to use a bit a more decent environment, so the focus might get on the characters themselves. also might play a bit with the pov, maybe a bit more frogview (i like that one)/in your case servant height, so it supports the impression of might of the master?

Don't let yourself push into hasting, no need to. just keep on exploring. there's still plenty of time :) keep it up Linda!

Hi Linda, I think your Concept has plenty of potencial. I would suggest maybe to have the girl looking up at the man while he smokes a cigar. Maybe holding the cigar up with his left hand with him facing the camera but his eyes are trained onto the girl or something like that maybe?

I would suggest to make you models only with the geometery you need to have ie head/neck and clothing etc... You have quite a bit of work to do so I would suggest you try and carve out most of the work first and not to worry about the detail too much until the end of the model making process.

Good luck linda  go for it...

Lemog
03-27-2005, 09:40 AM
All is possible with your concept... but I think you must increase the contrast between the 2 persons... she's not only at him service... she's is a poor exploited girl, with all these feelings of misery and suffering that implies. A great work for the expressions and environment...
I sure you will make something perfect, with your special feeling and your artist's qualities...

flaeticia
03-27-2005, 09:56 AM
Your concept is really indeed linda ! You have some bread on the board as we say in France !

Hi Linda......I believe that the master should be larger......more imposing.More superior also in the stance or pose.....He should have his head tilted back and looking slightly upwards....Proud and full of himself......The poor girl(Servant) should be looking down and away from him.....never daring to look upon this "Masters" eyes....Nervous and scacred of whatever move he makes...The expression on her face should be scared and cowering......Worried,and humbled.

I think a nice interior, something you are top notch in can be created for this praticular scene....adding to the masters superior standing a very high level interior owned by the master can show even more of his higher standing......

..............This can be a very nice and emotional as well as expressive picture.......And I am sure it will be......I'll be looking for your progress, good luck.....:arteest:

linda
03-29-2005, 12:27 PM
the1st_angel: yes you are right about the enviroment i will not make it to much eyecatching because in this image the charachters have to be the central point and i will concentrate more on the face expressions in this image.

blackdragoncg: I was thinking for the general to hold a weapon in his hand a sword or a rifle i will see....i did think to make the dress for the general very much detaild but as you said i will leave that to the end...

Lemog: You are absoloutley right i agree totaly this is moste important for this image to have the best effect....

flaeticia: thank´s my friend i am glad you like my concept!

Hi linda, re religion, the master could be a rich bishop, they need their shoes shined too, the lighting in your sketch would befit a church (some stained glass maybe)...sorry if it's an irrelevant tangent

Hi all here is a wip on the servant, i did not have any reference because i have been without internet for some days so i just modelled how i was thinking this girl could look like, anyway i need to put much dirt on the dress textures to give the feel of the poor girl because now the clothing might be a little bit to nice and modern for the time i was tinking to refer in my scene but anyway i have a start and that is good......

I want to add that this is my first real atempt of organic modelling and i have still hear face to make hahahahha......

Nice updates Linda. It liikek like her chest is kind of flat, like ti takes up a lot of space on her chest but doesn't go outwards proportionally. I am not sure about this, but her torso seems too short, and her legs seem too long. Nice first attempt Linda, looks pretty good. Hope to see mroe updates soon.

Looking really good

Two things:

a) Her chin looks rather masculine, maybe tweak it a little rounder and less protruded

b) Her feet appear slightly too long, and slightly too narrow... or maybe the weight distribution (somehow how the shin bone connects to the foot) is slightly off.

Hi i have made some improvement on her dress i added some wrinkles in zbrush i also made some changes on her face as you suggested me to do and the lower leggs are a little big thicker.
Now i will continue to add some wrinkles on hear shirt also.
let me know what you think.

Hi Linda, your modelling is coming along great, it looks like the first 'roll' on both the sleeves and socks could use maybe a subtle extra roll in the transition.
Great work so far! keep it coming:thumbsup:

Nice modeling Linda...the dress looks real nice...only one things bothering me with the chin...the area from the chin to the neck seems a bit flat....shoun't it be more like a curve?? It might be the perspective or lack of ears, but take a look at some refrence photos (or better yet chuck one in as a backdrop and compare)...other than that no crits...the sleeves are coming along real nice as well

Really nice modeling! The only thing I can think of is that her chin seems to strong for her character - it would fit perfect on a heroine type of character but perhaps that's not what you're after. Just a thought. Other than that, really good work and speedy as usual

linda
04-06-2005, 05:35 PM
Thx Gunilla!:) yes i want the character to look a little bit "sick" i mean starving and poor i think the cheeks now give this impression and that is what i want, i think when i am done with the textures i will bring this impression out more........

Beautiful progression for this servant Linda.
Some small remarks, the top of its face seems a little too long and too flat.
Her pubis appears also too flat, misses its a little forms (I likes the forms :scream: ).
Her calves lack contour on the back part, and the part before is not enough right.
Then, as you see, nothing hard or too much important... You actually do a very work lady Linda... continue like that and present us soon a new masterpiece

Lemog: yes i think i have to make some changes i thought i was finished with this modell but i now i can see i am not, i think i have become blind with this modell but now i can see that i have to make some changes so i will fix this and thank´s for your attention.

And as well as i am fixing this i try to make hear cheeks a little bit smaller as Gunilla said. :)

Honestly i stay so happy that i could make this modell for me it´s a great step forward because for me the organic modelling was something i thougt was much more difficoult and in only two days i make this, and if i can do this nothing is impossible..........

I have to thank Francesco for learning me understanding the organic modelling, mille baci per te.

Very good model, linda. all over impression and apprearance you your classical piece is very nice. my only suggestion is her jaw, her chin is a bit "male" cuz its looky very strong forward.
maybe smove her profile a slight bit out there. but thats just a minor tweak, your work comes a long nice and smoveley, keep it up Linda!!!

OK i have not understand if this is a must so if anyone knows tell me if i have to subbmit the story as well as an milestone.

ANYWAY HERE IS THE STORY:

Good evening linda !

This image is simply magic !
Even if your speciality isnt the organic modelling, I see that you dont untangle you so badly as that ! Its really a very beautiful modelling, the render is also besides.

Your render reminds me Brazil, but I know not why !

The concept is present quite as the quality of the modelling !
With regard to your image, the small right tongue doesnt distinguish itself enough (contrary to the other one).

Otherwise she has a little bit big feet ? :scream:

I wish you the best Linda

Good progress

Hi Laeticia! thank´s for your words i dont know i think the feets are ok, and as for the rendering i have used only light trace in 3ds max with one sun light one blue omni light and skylight.

Lemog: thank´s! the story might not be very detailed and original but it is a story anyway.............

Servant's coming on nicely, Linda :)

Can't wait to see your 'magic' lighting touch with the interior; the concept sketch looks like you'll do a great job there...

Looking forward to updates :)

Hi linda,
I think you have a good story. The modeling of your girl is good so far, may be just the neck that is too large for a girl but the remainder seems to work. So keep it up, and show us more stuff.
Have fun and good luck to you.:)

IS HEAR DREAM GOING TO COME TRUE?...................

• BBBUUAAAA!:cry::cry:, I hope so!!!, snif!... that's a sad story with an uncertain future.....,Can I model a couple of bucks to import them into your scene? :D
• Lovely, and very romantic,.... About your model only 2 suggestions:

1• Her's head is a bit too big, she is 6 heads tall, schrink it, but just a little bit, you'll see that this tiny change will improve the model

2•Make her butt a bit wider and lift a bit the breast

This are Just as I said tiny changes, try them out, u don't have to re-model or texturize again only scale and move some vertices, matter of a couple of minutes

Great Linda! It was about time! but it has been worth! ;)

linda
04-08-2005, 04:21 PM
Atwooki: thank´s i hope my lightning of the scene is going to come out as i have in my mind...as you said a little bit magic.....

ninox: I am glad you like it i will try to get her neck a little bit smaller.

alexfalchi: mille grazie!!

Lemog: In this point of viewe you are right i agree that there are to many monsters in the challange, and this is more different from moste of the other guys concepts.

Climax: hahahaha don´t cry to much.....save the tears to the end.....
I will follow your suggestions i am sure they will improove my modell thank´s!

Hi Linda!
Nice Job, specially the garment...that's amazing:thumbsup:.
I like your concept too.
I little advice is about the servant head area, it seems too masculine , I think neck could be thinner, the cheekbone and the eyebrow area are too protuberant given her a master-like aspect.
By the way I'm from Brasil, but I don't what flaeticia is talking about:shrug:. Could you point out
what she means?

anyway...Good Luck!!!

Hi Linda,
The models are so alive that I feel as they will come out of the monitor and start to talk...You have grown own style, you can model and make texture and lights in a swift way...Your style produces photorealistic images with some touch of optimist dreamy mood...Your characters exist and even dream!!!
