Concept: (sketch to follow as soon as I get home)
My first idea...Display the mental tear between ourselves and our minds, the 'enslavement' of our conscience. Basic idea is to have a facial study of a man who appears to be in serious agony hold his head, ripping his hair out, tears, sweat, froth, muscus, streaming from his face.. possibly a slighly futurist approach, showing the face in varied poses. Its my first challenge, Im very excited. I hope this concept fits the challenges requirements, its a slighly different approach I realise.
But the general idea... our bodies are no more than a slave to our mind, a tool, something to control
I have just purchased my first tablet about a week ago, Intuos3, Not sure as to which software I am using yet, I have no photoshop, but will try to aquire a cheap Elements 3 licence (maybe off my college).. I'll use painter classic and art rage possibly, but my college has photoshop 6, so if I dare to take my tablet out of the house (im still in that protective state of mind), I'll be able to use that.
If anyone is doing something similar, please link me to your WIP

A little add on to the concept, i was playing around with the idea of the good vs evil conscience, and how we are in the control of our conscience, if it doesnt fit in with the challenge, please say now !

On programs to use: You can download trial versions of most apps from the net. Just do a search on the program you are looking for.
On concept: I think you have a good concept, but my critique thus far is that I am not sure that the viewer will get your concept through just the head with the facial expression. You may want to think about being creative to portray your concept in another way. I say this because I looked at your thumbnail before I read your explanation. I'd suggest taking a surrealistic approach or something...i don't know.
just some thoughts, take 'em or leave 'em :)
