yep is really not 100% perfect and for my firts time that I play with MOCCA I had to tell the true: is pretty hard. The main problem now is understand how correct this small mistakes... hope I can do it... in time...

 Tremo, ty for your kindness and support... Yess caustics will be done (like you tell) I will fake them, but this it will be on the lighting "chapter". I will fake them using lights gels over illuminations spot objects...

This is coming on real good - very good poses on the servants!
Be careful how you place them where they overlap eachother, in the latesr version it almost looks like the front guy leans his head in the second ones hand. I'm sure you'll fix it - it just the only thing I noticed. Overall this is going to be a great looking image - looking forward to the caustics

Julien I like the new scene (very good light)! The men are well posed, only the first on the right seems a little strange position. Where is the master??:)

05-02-2005, 11:53 AM
Wow, it is a beautifull light, but I cannot catch the point of the picture - where is the master? and what are those strange things? may be it is written somewhere but to see the image should be enough to understand it (if its not any postmodern art).
......may be Im only lazy to think about it..:)

I've been using VReel skin, in the fake SSS mode (Shadow offset), which renders way faster than true SSS (about 5x faster, as far as i can tell). You can see it in my thread. (I think I've actually overdone it in the render that i've posted, but I'll adjust it when i get to final lighting).

It's certainly too much early... but I'm ask me a question... the chain, above zeus, doesn't seem tended. That disturb me a little... the head and the body are nnot maintaining with this chains ?

Anyway Julien, very good job... go mate

05-09-2005, 06:51 AM
How about if u attach more screens to Zeus with images of body parts just like u did with his head (or maybe like an xray showing interior of the body), know what I mean? Perhaps make Zeus a bit larger (without legs - just torso with hands merging into those wires - they look awsome) and humans a bit smaller, mainly just arms reaching out of the water level - and u wont even have to model so hard :) . Caustics on the walls would look better if they were a bit less coloured and visible.

Good luck!

I like the final image! The water is very realistic! Maybe the blur effect is too high in some place, and also the texture of the master's face seems too dirty but this is only my impression! Goog luck Julien!!

Master&Servant final (http://www.jddog.ch/cgtalk/masterandservant.html)

For me this work was really ambitious and probably a too big project for the time that I had and in confront of my skills in organig modelling, but was again an occasion to learn and experiment on organic modelling, and for the very first time, to rig a semi body...

What a great experience! I know is not really 100% the result that I expected, but I'm happy with this work... I learn a lot and I have a lot of fun again... I have to be modest, is not a 5 star work... but for me the only fact that I came to the end and I finished this project is a 5 star for me :D Lol... With more time I suppose that different thing can be better, etc... not important. This was a great trip a great experience and I have a lot of fun...

Every day I learn something here, every day I meet here new people that is the most beautiful things!

Merci, grazie, thank you !

Julien

PS: sorry for my bad english gs...

Such a great piece, congratulations my friend, well done! The lighting is superb, water is always tricky but you've mastered it, seemingly without any problems. The humans poses are great, they look absent yep terrifyed, haunted, and zeus has a quiet original robotic look.
Only thing I can find to mock you is the composition. It's a little boring with zeus being right in the middle and everything around him so symmetrical. Though the camera angle is good. I think it could have been better by just increasing the canvas size to the right.
Overall: Great and stunning!
