This idea came about when some coworkers and I talked about me taking out a polar bear with a baseball bat. A series of interesting scenarios spawned and I really didn't like what they came up with. All of their scenario involved me getting mauled. Well, this is me and my little fantasy should I ever come across a polar bear. Crits welcomed.

In for a penny in for a pound. :)
Yeah, the challenge here is managing time and energy. Plus, it'll be a good vehicle to get really good with XSI and all the fancy stuff like Hair and the Rendertree. I'm sure that'll come in handy soon.

Cool idea :)
How do you like rigging in XSI? Is it similar to Maya, with tools like influence objects and set driven key?
cheers,

PixelKeg,
Rigging is XSI is not bad. You can do set driven keys (called link with parameters in XSI) as well as weight to a wide range of objects from nulls to implicit objects. One funky thing different betweent Maya and XSI is that XSI has the IK's all built in along with a few other funky functions. The difference is really minimal. At the end of the day, you're still more concerned about where you placed the joints and how the deformations look.
At this point, I'll rig a character with toothpicks if they pay me enough to do so.
peace,
Lu
