another sketch.
more or less the same.

I might play with the colors a bit.
I really need to do more research to get the costumes and arena perfect. Also the bull.

Hey everyone.
thanks for the greets!
Let's get this 2D thing going.
I don't want the 3D guys getting all the attention!

Anyway,
look for somemore romantic latin inspired work.
I will be doing a bull fight scene.
should be pretty powerfull if I can pull it off the way I want.

wish me luck.
images on the way soon.

Hi Kory! Of all the threads, yours is the one I'm really looking forward to. I've been a long time admirer of your 2D work, so my eyeballs are buzzing just to get a glimpse of what you have planned... I'm sure I don't have to wish you luck, having seen the artwork you produced for the Grand Space Opera challenge.

Thanks Z
I am running a little behind shedule on this one. It may end up a last minute push.
I wish I had more time
but fimily obligations and ome sad personal matters have put this on the back burnner.
The good news is that I am thinking about it still, so when I do get a chance to sit down and do it, it will go pretty quickly.

thanks for your interest.

Here are a couple of concepts.
mostly just for thinking and color.
I will work on the composition next.
I have been busy so this is the only thing I will able to do this week. I hope to work on it more next week.

welcome to the fray! Hope everything is going better for you...

Original concept, and controversial... not seen anything like it in my short time here, browsing the other entries. I love the panorama and immediate impact of the (I'm presuming) dead bull of the first one, also the fact the upward angle on it should make the bullfighter seem more champion-esque, but the bull steals from that.

Very nice concept you've got there. Many props to you for choosing something for realistic. :-) Love the lighting!

Nice Start Kory, and good to see you are ready to go for this.
I liked POV1 cuz it makes look the torrero more heroic. bigger screen. and the dying bull in front... but those are just early sketches i know.
So i hope everything is fine now. Goodluck, and keep it up!

Hey Thanks guys.
I am still thinking about the compositions.
I am going to try and play against expectations onthis one.
I am going to try and get across two different relationships.
one obvious...Bull and Matador.
and then the relationship between the Matador and the Crowd.
Fame and Glory being the master over the Matadore pushing him do do something
that some may think of as cruel.
in my newer sketches I will try and convey this more clearly.

thanks again

Thanks Corey and V.
Hopefully I wil have some more stuff to show later next week. I have someother stuff to take care of first. then on to this pretty hard in the last weeks.
I will definatly play with the composition. I most likely change iot to vertical.
It's kind of funny I always really like the horizontal comositions in therory but end up going with the vertical. huh? I'll have to think about why that is. It just may be subject matter.

see ya

Hey Kory,

I'm hoping that you manage to find time to pull this one out, because I like the theme very much. I too prefer the more heroic camera angle rather than the more nuetral one.

cheers anyways

well maybe comes from the same reason my works often end up that way. I have a deep love for old movieposters... wish i lived in that era sometimes.
Just looking forward to see what you're up to next. love your works, always did. keep on rocking mate!

perhaps because it looks better in your head when it's horizontal, but while working on it and always viewing on your monitor it looks better and better when changing it to vertical :) i have often the same problem... :)

it's a shame you didn't finish, perhaps next time? :) i know, i would have loved your bullfight :)
