My idea is that "king" Frank (the rich guy) purchased a small child instead of a car... "It is cheaper to feed the child than to buy gas for an automobile fit for a king!" says Frank.

I'm not to sure on the design of Frank... I'm going to go home and sketch some more versions of him

This is the model for Frank's head... I'm pretty happy with the geometry.

Started roughing out the body. I still have to do the front part and the hands and feet... then it's off to the rest of the models.

Looking pretty cool man. what kind of ideas do you ahve for the envo or texturing?

The environment will be a traffic jam with a nice smoggy city scape in the far background. The textures will be fairly simple, enough to suggest photoreal, but stylized of coarse. It will be a hot day, so Ill want warm colors mixed with desaturated ones. Plus, it will look dirtier on the lower half of the picture (where the child is) and somewhat clean and unthreatening uptop.

Fixed the lighing and put in the hands, they still need to be posed with their objects (tea cup and riegns (sp?))

Added teapot and teacup, articulated the hand even though you can't see it from this angle >:( added detail to seat mech.

Frank: I belive Patrick Star said it best "When it doubt, pinky out". Yeah it just looks like the cup is floating bro, regardless of the real position always shoot for the silouete. Some of his face is kind of blocky, especially around the brows, maybe to convey his fatness you should try to make the facial planes blend a little better. Also you have a jaw line, but there would be alsmot no way the jaw would show with those cheeks. His hat, i love it man, but would it look beter having a curve all the way up it instead of straighting out? Also you may in the end want to lean the top forward, just so your continuing the line of his body.

Boy: I think if you make the eyes a tad bit larger, it will convey a smaller/innocent child. Give em the puppy dog eyes, will make people sympathize more for him.

Funny concept. I haven't seen any entrie with the big guy being the master while riding ontop of the smaller guy; its usually the other way around. Poor kid. Modeling seems to be going great. Waiting for more updates.

Is the boy too big? I think his size relation to Frank is not as dynamic as it should be? What do you think?... Starter the legs and belt harness.

Lovely modeling and a really good concept! As for size of the boy - I think the size in the sketch was more clear about the relation, I'm sure you find the right solution. The expression of the boy is really heartbreaking... the whole scene is very promising so far :thumbsup:

yeah, i have to agree that this deserves a lot more attention than its recieving, i love the concept and the modelling style is really unique. i think that making the size difference would help the effect of image and having frank kicking or pushing on the servants head would add a nice touch. awesome work though, im looking forward to seeing it finished, good luck:bounce:

I'm not sure I'll have him smoking a cigar,... wait did you mean the servant (the kid) smoking a cigar? maybe interesting... I was trying to contrast frank's stubby fat limbs with the kids long and skinny limbs, but I think the kid ends up looking older than he should. I think if I go skinny by semi-stubby, the boy will look more like a child.

I would say drinking better than smoking, because that way the servant should put an extra attention not to make any tough movement... this add a little story to the scene I think.

I've been trying to show that kind of relationship between the too. Frank is drinking tea and there's a tea pot on the table, its hard to choose an angle that shows the tea pot and Frank drinking and still show the little boy struggling to support Frank while not moving his head too much (can't have the tea sloshing around!!)... Thanks for your comments

pigwater- the kids body is whats thowing me... but your right his face looks like something from Akira.
