View Full Version : CHAR_CONCEPT: secret_agent_girl
alchoi 09-24-2002, 04:46 PM Hey dudes ... it's been awhile ....
I've been working like a dog on my 3D film ...
Thought I'd drop a line and see how things were going ...
Here's a quick concept sketch of a character ... kind of like a secret service agent ....

Looks good!
Her knees seem a little knobbly, but maybe that's what you intended.
Also, the short dress seems a little out of place for a secret agent, but maybe she's an agent from the Austin Powers mold, so I don't see a problem. :)
Keep us posted on the progress of your film, will you?

Hey al, good to see some of your stuff again.
I think the knees crit is close, they do seem to stick out too much. But that doesn't bother me so much, it's actually the location of the knee themselves.
Her right knee is up too high, it makes her femur and quads look really short.
And her left knee doesnt look like it is pointing in the same direction as her toes. The knee and the toes should always point in the same direction.
I know it is just a concept sketch, so maybe I am picking it apart too much, (sorry if I am ).
Is this going into 3D?

i like the clean drawing and the cool style! rad stuff! i think the perspective makes her look like she is leaning over. i think it has to do with her right shoulder being too far out. if you bring the whole arm in towards her body i think that would do it for me.
cool stuff!

Nice nice ...
Thanks for the feedback ...
Itchi - you're feedback on the right shoulder was echoed by a few buddies of mine ... thanks. Loved what Roundeye did for colour by the way ... sweet!
The knees ... well, yeah ... I was trying to accent them a bit ... but I must say, I agree ... they're too bony ....
Concept sketch or not, by the way, crits are always welcome ... I was trying to compensate for perspective on the knees, as well but I musta been on glue ... I see it now guys, thanks.
This isn't going into 3D (unless anyone wants to give er a go), just a doodle while setting up my scene lights.
As far as her costume, it's actually based on my drummer's wife ... she was wearing this at one of our shows and I liked the simplicity of it ... I could also picture her offing someone J.Woo style with double-fisted guns ... heheheheh ...
Besides, I've been designing a few vikings lately (which I can't post - NDA) ... and I was getting sick of "over-armouring" everything.
Thanks you guys ... I miss posting here.
Seeya between renders.
