View Full Version : remake
derwolpertinger 09-24-2002, 04:01 PM kiwi inspired me to do a remake of an older scene of mine, too. :D
i was pretty much surprised how much i've learned since i've created the first pic.
i know that it is no great modelling job but i somehow really like the lighting, it 's got a special mood in my opinion. and it has some kind of painted style, well dunno how to explain it clearly...

....ps: .no radiosity...
:)....pps: ...textures are all procedural...

yup gotta agree with ya ...like it.
any chance we can see before / after pic?
:applause:
I like it as well :)
It has a very sculptural feel to it.Smooth in areas and then rough and then the 2 blend nicely again.

I don't think the wood looks like wood, have a look at this wood I made: http://forum.bhodinut.com/viewtopic.php?t=414&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

nup, looks just right for a washed up peice of drift wood, very nicely done, could we see a wireframe of the scene ?

thx for the comments guys! :D
i'll post the old version and a wireframe in a few hours.
ps: for me i think it looks like the dried out pieces of wood you can find at the beach. :p
suddenly found the pic :D

i made it black and white back then cause i did not really have a clue of good lighting so the colours looked like shit. :p

The wood looks good in black and white but I think it looks wrong in color. The pot in b&w looks like it's a comb of 3 diffrent textures, one standard, one light bump and one heavy bump, mostly on the handle(think you call it that, I mean the thing you hold)
ohh I forgot to say that the b&w looks good

thanks for posting the before after side of it, gives us all an idea into the thinking. With the wood you want the almost sandblasted smooth feel to it (the effects of the elements, salt water, wind, sand etc). I like the fact it now has a feel to the whole pic, even down to the grain quality. v nice to start with and to end with really.

really nice piece of work. like the outcome with such low geometry. maybe you can show me how you made some parts of this. I'm becomming more a modeling freak right now i think and not so much a texture guy.
ps you've seen much driftwood over there in the south*g*
and what about the pizza. did you call the number?
