Nicolas Ziaja has entered the Master and Servant 3D.

Challenge Page (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/masterandservant/view_entries.php?challenger=5934)

Latest Update: Modeling: arms and a bit of the legs
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/9/5934/5934_1112555041_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/9/5934/5934_1112555041_large.jpg)

thank you Hillbillyking
yeah, i noticed her cross eyed gaze, but i reckon it comes from the camera angle (besides i did that really quick just so that non cg-people are not scared)
and i worked a bit on the nose
is it better?
her arms really worry me, but i think i slowly come closer to what one can call "good looking"

that is the very first raw sketch
it shows a woman (servant) wo is crying because her last hope, the candle (master), is about to get wet by the heavy rain (also master)
the final image is supposed to show that human beings will always depend on higher powers such as the weather and what they need to survive (here the candle)
hope you like it :)

here is my 3d-sketch so that everyone can see what i have in mind
the figur in the image is just a allready rigged charakter which i downloaded so that i could make that 3d-sketch very fast

Hi there! I think that the idea is very evocative but doesn't fit particularly well to the topic. 'cause who's the servant? Whom does he/she serve? What for? Those are unanswered questions.
Well, anyway good luck with the challenge!

i disagree. i think it is a good approach, and what's more oryginal idea.
in simple words - the woman is a slave - she serves to a candle. look at deeper meaning.

so
i finally begann modeling
i am not going for a hyer realistic woman, but a bit cartoony as i think that style fits bitter to the idea which is in some ways cartoony either

@ coCoKNIght: sad you dont like my idea, but i will stick to it and really thought a long time about the topic
my target is to show the very first and lasts aspects of human life
i wont give away my whole thoughts as i want other to think about my image at last

@kru: i am happy you like my konzept
your interpretation is one of many :)

puuuuuh
after an ridiculous amount of pure VC pushing and pulling (about 3 hours!!!) i have finally achieved my desired result
i have to find somebody who kicks my ass very hard if I ever want to make a (nearly) human face without any reference
anybody wants to do that job?
anyway, here is the update of the face now
i tried very, very hard to make good loops for rigging, any comments about them?
note please that this is my 2nd human face, and i did probably many beginner mistakes (though i went to every tutorial existing on face loop modelling and wrote many dinA4 pages of notes)
i allready learned a lot about human face modeling
thank you cg-talk for that opportunity!
i would really appreciate any critics on the face :)

I didn't say I don't like your idea, au contrair. A really evecative idea for a drawing is something that seldom occurs to me...
the modeling is very clean, keep it up!

i disagree. i think it is a good approach, and what's more oryginal idea.

deeper meaning = woman slave to a candle?
But as Phynix indicated ther IS a deeper meaning and I'm curious to read it.

@Phynix: Just keep in mind that the picture has to talk for itself.
PS. hope your father will understand when he sees this piece finished!

hi coCoKNIght
thank you for kind words
i am glad you like my konzept! :)
but what does evocative mean? doesnt stand in my dictionary
i will try to make the picture self explaining
(i will show my father one of the next updates, as he likes images from naked woman ;) , maybe he likes cg after that more, too )

here is an update now ( i somehow cant upload pictures anymore, i always get timeouts :( )
here it is now: http://img22.exs.cx/img22/7791/vorschau2hs.jpg
hope you like it so far
i am still working on the breasts but i would be glad about every critizism (just note that i go a bit for stylizied look )

now, it becomes much more woman like
are there any suggestions? would be really
glad about them :)

just one question: do i have to put a nudity sign somewhere?

Phynix

i have to say i am pretty pleased with my first female character :)
some comments would be nice :)
i know the head is a bit to big but i wont change it until i have got the basic body finished to see the effect of the too big head
does that make any sense? anyway, i am looking forward to some honest critics
btw. is it okay to upload that much images to cgtalk? kind of unsure about that :)
good night now

no reply again :(
i would really need the critic

hope you like it allready and i am really looking forward to critics :)

I really like the model so far. The eyes look a little cross-eyed. Also, the nose area between the eyes seems a bit pinched. That being said, she looks pretty solid. I like the style you're going with.
By the way, I really like the idea for the entry as well.
