Hey guys and girls
Thanks for the support:)
Have been busy with other things lately and hadn't had the time to do some modeling.
But now I am back:)
A small update, the boy now had a head, a bit different hands and clothes to wear.
The sleaves still can change in the future.
Now I move to texturing, lighting and scene-setup.

Cheers

My first entry, and maybe the creepiest idea

The master is controlling his servant by sticking his needles into different parts of the brain and controlling his every action and emotion.
inspiration : The idea from the 19'th century ( I miss those days :p ) that there was a small guy inside your head watching everything you were watching.

Second idea: A Egyptian Pharoa overlooks the construction of ( something terribly big) The Master is the Pharoa, the servants are the Gaurd and the countless number of slaves , uhm, slaving on the construction site.

Inspiration : A Futurama episode, where Bender gets to become Pharoa and they built a Bender Statue.

Yeaah ,a mate from Belgium :)

I like your second idea , but maybe a bit too huge, don't forget we only have two month :D

My third idea: A mad professor that has created his own lifeform.
The perfect child? Or the beginning of A Super Soldier? Maybe it is Doomday Virus? Or the Best Chocolate cake ever?
Who knows?
Inspiration: The nutty professor... It just crossed my mind

Another one:
A giant creature that is being controlled by a little girl.
What I like about this is the different style about it, the creature is all angled, and this will stand out in the crowd , I think.
But not yet sure about the position of the girl, she is too small right now.

This is a drawing my girlfriend make when I told her about this contest.
I think it is a interesting and moving interpretation of the Master-slave theme.
I am still in doubt which image to make, I like both this image and the construction site image
I need some help here guys, which one is the best?

Cheers

I am fond of your girlfriends concept. Very touching. I don't think anyone else has gone this direction yet.

i'm liking the bear-idea most, but from a 3d perspective perhaps the pharao's construction site would be nice as well. i see the bear idea more of a digital drawing that contains that loose and sketchy feeling to it.. but eitherway make something nice of it - i'll keep coming back to follow up on yr progress.

and good luck.

hi baroba :)
the concept with the bear is the best for sure, it is an unique concept (i guess) and it gives a certain feeling to me.

keep up the good work :)

hi there baroba (medetnganger)
i guess the bearthingie is the most touching sketch i have seen today, it gives me a little weird feeling inside. i hope you go for that one for sure because it is an unique idea and it would be a shame if it goes away, far far away.

Thanks for the support :)

I decided to got with the kid and the bear. Like puntje said, the image has something in it.
My girlfriend didn't want to do it in 2D , but she was very honoured if I did it in 3D.
So the first object is being modeled. The bear, in good shape for now:)
Now the finer details will be added and the aging.
Fur and stuffing will be added in a much later timeframe.

Cheers and good luck if your are in the contest

Worked on the bear some more, added all kinds of details.
The angry look is not intensional, and it will disappear as soon as I render it, it is just a 'flaw' of de OpenGL display.

very kewl ... very unusual to the other entry's but i see that going with your girl friends concpe twas a great idea. not that your ideas were rubbish .. no other wise. Use as much as emotion as you can in your scene, a bear is always a plain character but can be given so much power just by the use of expression of face, and stature (if thats how you spell it) i can already see by using stitching and other subtle details this bear can really put a tear in some peoples eyes.. but do not forget the theme of this challenge.. you are on teh right track, and i see this idea has potential... Stripe mentioned it is unique.. he knows what hes talking about its very unique but keep that style and keep addiing to the uniquness and you'll produce a great image.. i hope i have helped you .. you got the inspiration.. Know use your 3d knowledge and become some one elses inspiration :):):)

Hey
Another update
This time the bear has all the detailing that will be visible underneath/thru the fur.
And I also gave him so basic coloring ( still not completed)
And I 'reworked' him a bit so he looks more like on the drawing.
Some minor things need to be added, modelingwise, but then I need to tweak the surfacing and add the fur.
Next will be the bed model

cheers

reminds me of Shadowan. remember the time-travelling teddy he had that could take him to the underworld?

Great Idea, keep evolving her... a little tip: in the Scetch a teddy has a bit smaller lips then your latest model and that gives a bit more regret.. just my opinion...

Update time again:
Thanks for the comments :)
I resized the mouth, it really was to big.
The snote(spelling?) is also alot more rounder.
I add eyebrows to the bear, it does give him alot more expression.
Next image is the bed.

The bed model
Very simple model, you wont see much more then the sheet and the pillow.
The pillow already has the headpressure-area modeled.
Thats it :)

Thanks for the replies, guys and girl

All parts are coming together.
The last part and the the master in the scene.
A 3 year old boy ( shivers run down multiple spines :p )
My girlfriend is working on some more sketches of the boy.
I already modeled the hands becuase they will be visible in the finished shot.
