Lemog don't forget to model yourself a nice cold beer for that fridge. After all this effort you deserve it
You know me well, I've really think to do something like that, I can reassure you mate... when fridges textures are done... certainly a sort of wallpaper like that, for the fun

Hello my nice ! :D

While of beautiful things which succeed one another on your Thread. You can understand my admiration in front of all that you proposes us there ! Things being what they are, there is a small something who saddens me in each : no its not the boards of masonries that I shall offer to my father for his birthday, but the position of the index belonging to the left hand of the natural mother (situated to the right on the image) : that hampers me because that gives the impression that its the continuation of boards, that would be for one there maintains, while its not the case ! :scream:
Except this, there isnt nothing else to add, like every time (Comme D'hab quoi :bounce: huhu)

Elendil le Grand -> merci... ça me faisait plaisir de le ressortir encore une fois

Flaeticia -> I think your father will be happy to have some walls for his birthday... surely :D
and for the boards... don't care, it's only here to present fridges... not for the final scene, or then, I'm not well informed... hahahaha :bounce:

Thanks for your advice Gilles... in fact, I don't have to do a real choice... certainly the less well will be in the background, but I need for the final composition between 20 and 30 different electro domestic things... like fridges, cooker, furnace, micro wave, washing machine, etc...

This time, I try to used for all these electro domectic materials only Maya shaders... that's certainly offer me a better contrast with the rest of the scene... as Humano-IDs and vegetation. :)

visualact.com -> don't be sorry my friend, it's the same for me and a lot of people here... the only one thing uncompressible was certainly the time... what a pitty :scream:

e-maje -> non Gilles, la chose à droite n'est pas une poignée, mais une sorte d'étiquette avec la marque du réfrigérateur... les poignées sont bien à gauche... quel oeil éguisé
No Gilles, the thing at right is not an handle, but a sort of fridge's mark... The two handles are effectively at left... great eyes you have my friend

el_newty -> what do you said ?? it's not a fridge contest ?? I really do a mistake then... I must repare that... it's certainly a whashing machine contest, no ? I must change these images :D hahahahaha

Hi Lemog,

I saw your last update, and I find the idea of TV very original and very realistic. (the pride for a collector).
But I have a small idea for you. You could can be to imagine another type of holographic standard projection (It's 3D not ?).
A holographic projection thus projecting the beginning towards the future and the future one towards the beginning.
A no infinite but cyclic universe as for the Buddhists.

Ok, I stop, it was just an idea.

Now the TV's textures... I don't really work on the screen textures, because when all televisions will be dispatched in the scene, I will do some test with images on the screen...

I don't know if it's realistic... I don't think... and ther's no secret to do like that... only the combination of maya 3d shaders... no map... a set up for render global not too smoothy, and especially a lot of lights, with lot of differents colors with low intensity, and some hard colored backlights... simply... and done with the basic maya renderer. :)

I've got a idea (very rare...), for the tv screen test, with photographies of nature... I can use some of mine... or some of free pictures of the web, but I find a idea that agree me a lot... you, my friends of CgTalk, have certainly done some pretty nature photos, no ? and I think that will be pretty cool if some of you send me a free photo of their own country, no ?

Then, if you think that's idea is interesting, please, send one or two interesting photos to test that, I will be very glad and honored. I need only 8 differents photos of nature... maybe more in few days, if I add another TV models.

I think that will give an another symbolic touch for my picture... thanks a lot yet to your all

Ok, my friend!!

Thank you for the present! I will keep that image, with certainty!

Very good the idea, to place nature images in television. But it should leave clear of the dependence of the " humans " to the domestic apparels, not the nature, exposed in the TV. Don't?

Good work!

I liked many of the other images, it shows some several pieces of our planet.

Lolo............My oh my you are creating a fleet......Always interesting and unique in all your plans/ideas........This entry of yours is coming out very nicely......I expected this,no surprise for me......:arteest:

................to make a suggestion is sometime tough.....you have your way and style, your vision is set.......My only comment other than telling you I enjoy seeing you're creativity is you could possibly give the appliances etc,etc... a more beaten worn scratched and scuffed appearance in the mesh......more dents and broken pieces.....broken off from being dragged by "Mother Nature"........I think textures will help this if thats in the plan....but also in the mesh.this could be important......

.....Anyways....I just really admire your creativity and imagination,as well as you're execution....I'll be watching, and enjoying as always:arteest:

Lemog

Michael -> Thanks a lot my friend to give me your so interesting advice... I understand well, and I'm ask me yet this question... Must I do appliances scratched or clean ? The principal problem in this scene will be the lisibility... it's for this reason that I use only 3d shader for the appliances, to keep a really good contrast with the rest of the scene, with the nature parts, as Mother Nature, the roots, branches, lianas and the vegetation that come.

Then, as you see, I do a choice... a bit destroyed, these appliances risk to disappear in the environment... we must thinking too that will be all the humano-ID in the scene. I don't know exactly the real number, but certainly more of 20 or 25. For all these reason that I keep like that, it's also the reason of a simple modeling, not to much details...

But one thing is sure, I keep your remark in a corner of my mind, and when the scene will be finish, at the moment of the final setup, if it's necessary, I will change these things.

For the moment, I have to finishing the appliances, place them in the scene... take in position all the Humano-ID...
After that, remain me to give the final pose to Mother Nature, and also her texturing.
Adding the rest of the vegetation...
The texturing of concrete blocks in the background, I will certainly try to find some graffitis.
Working on the background,
and an idea to explore for the foreground...
etc...

As you see, remain a lot of work... but I know I'm not the only one, isn't ?

Thank you Michael

your mother nature kicks ass, very sweet model (I asked my girlfriend if we could have one in the garden but she refuses  )

the humanoids are very clever too, just human enough yet simple enough to look more drone like.

and as for the filling objects, they just go to show you obviously have found a way of manipulating time :wise: ... how else can you explain all the stuff you can make so fast???

as a final remark for now I'd like to say good job on changing the view of the shot, I think it adds to the drama in the last test setup you posted.

Great concept & Nature's medusa-tree character looks really striking. Looking back through your entries page (& what a lot of entries!) I preffered the earlier idea of a horizontal composition, which seemed more epic & iconic than the portrait aspect, although the vertical one has more depth & nature is more dominant in the frame. Can't wait to see all the elements come together...

`mb -> Thanks for the advice... me too, I prefer the horizontal composition... like I've planed at the begining of the challenge... that's more in the feel I want... portrait format is good to present something, here, it's a real story, a real scenery... with a big importance for the other details and the environment... I don't think to change that before the end.

alexfalchi -> Thanks Alex... It's funny, yes, it's right... but I have a little deception... to can't put in my scene all the earth's countries... but I think that's not very easy... maybe something like that for an another story, on day

Dimitris -> Finally, this picture come to have many stories, many explanations, many senses... An idea that seem a bit precise... and a little bit of free style... I'm very happy to divide this another challenge with you all...

...that's so good, you are all very sympathic girls and guys... Thanks all my friends...

Versiden -> Thanks my south africa man... I'm waiting your pic :bounce:

JamesMK -> When to quit ? never... or if I'm broke my arms (cause with one only, I'm sure to continue...) Thanks James :)

alexfalchi -> No mate... I don't try various... I must use all appliances... :scream:

rattlesnake -> to resume quickly, I'm actually preparing all electro-domestic appliances for the final scene, after some fridges, some washing machines, I built some TVs... in first, only 8... and come the idea to put in the screen, nature images, send by CgTalkers of differents countries... and so, 8 was not sufficient, I do 8 more TVs with the latest photos... for a total of 16 differents TVs... Note all these TVs are really inspired by real models...
And I don't, If I recieve another photos of country don't do, maybe I obliged to do more models :banghead:
Normally... TVs are finish his night, and tomorrow... I place all appliances in the scenes, a total of 27...
And just after, the group of Humano-IDs

atra -> I don't think to work faster today... the only one difference is the virtuality, I think now I'm really in the challenge, in my scene... in this small world which is in my head... and fabulous views of Thailand are inside too

gpepper -> You know... there's always a lot of goodest things in this challenge... my pleasure was as you know to divide my feeling and this pleasure to create. Our virtual life is beautiful, no ? :bounce: and certainly that help us in our real life. Merci mon ami Gilles

jdsb -> That's kind of words touch me a lot you know... that boost my energy... and for sure, my pleasure ;)

You have a really whimsical approach; using almost mundane objects like antique household items in a fantastic setting is really appealingly unusual for me.
I'd like to see some wook grain/bark in the tree lady. I worked out a procedural way to make woodgrain a while ago, (though it works better if you plan to use this technique from the start). (using 3dsmax) Basically you use vertex colours to make a gradient going around each branch, so one side is black and the other white. Then with output curves you make that gradient into a wavy line, mix it with noise for randomness, and use the result to displace your mesh. I'm not sure if this idea is any help, or if it makes any sence.....

An image I made using the technique described above:

Thanks a lot for this tip Greg... effectively, I've planed (if I can...) to textured Mother Nature only with procedural textures, with a blend at the top of the body and her face... but only procedural for the other parts... normally, the simply shader yet in place must help me for texturing... I will see that soon, certainly my work for the next week...

Thanks again and congratulation for your treeface
