:bounce: Thanks a lot Friends 4 :bounce: the great feedback! :bounce:

I tryed to rigg and skinn Kira last night. There are some small problems with her knees and arms. But I look foreward to fix it this evening.:banghead:
Oh Yeah! Thinks are going to take shape :arteest:

Alex, Du Tier!

This is looking very impressive! The scene has a sinister mood to it, which I love. There isn't really anything you cannot deal with, is there? I guess I'll "order" a poster-size print-out of that one too, right away! :)

Best regards...

Hi Alex. Did you setup her skeleton correctly...missplaced joints are usually the main problem when rigging.

King Tomonagas defense party is set.
Kira and Loar are in place to protect the King. But where is Kagekatsu, the known enemy from king Tomonaga?! He will arrive shortly (WIP) to face the protectors.

They will not let him pass ;)

Mega cool update my friend. The characters look great together. Kira lack something for self defense is she's guarding. Maybe a small pistol?? This is gonna go to my wallpaper collection for sure

Scene is set, characters in place, villain is still missing (weekend ;) ) and maybe some small details here and there. And then comes 18-30 hours of hardcore rendering. =)

Looking pretty impressive, Alex. :)
Right now, the lighting is pretty low for the scene, but you're already aware of that. It'd be kinda interesting if you made the viewer's perspective of the scene the same as Kagekatsu and have Kira/Loar face the viewer instead of "out" of the image (but maybe that's just me).

Nice Alex, looks great, though cant see much in that dark. Hopefully the vol. light will do the trick.

Good luck and small render times! :)

@ArtisticVisions:: Interesting Idea! :) Maybe a hand ore a weappon from the side of the screen facing the defenders :) :) :) I will think this over, exrteem cool Idea, Thanks a lot!

@Jonas:: Yeah Friend thanks a lot ;) ...small rendertimes! :buttrock: :bounce:

The lighter version majorly rocks Alex :)

I'd add in a cold filler light to the right to get some more details out of the characters.

hey its looking good man... i like that lighting... but i think the characters should catch more light, right now the focus of the image is not looking right... i'll b waiting for more updates soon.. keep it up and hurry up too(i should be the one telling myself that lol)

Back from my dayjob ;)

My mashine rendered a 1100x1100 er version (volume light is currently a small FAKE compositing from an old rendererd image) today during my dayjob.

I agree with you that the characters need a bit more light (especialy KIRA)
and I overthrow my idea with the villain in the front.

The Problem:: I wanted to show him from behind (shoulder and head) as i dit in a sketch bevore... BUT... he would proberbly to large and would cover my whole image.

So... the ultra cool Idea came up from :: ArtisticVisions ::
(a bit like a scene from an egoshooter ;) hope you like all it (i love it)

So here is the rough compositing (already started modeling the villains hands)

Stay tuned & thanks 4 visiting and feedback

hi alexander,

danke!

Hi friends here it is :)

Final composition (in low res 1100x1100 pixel)

I dit dome tweeks on the lighting and on some materials.

Already pushed the render button in estimated 3000x3000 pixel (hope that´s enough ;)

See u all at the final / last update.

Once again this challenge was a real good skill trainer. I dit my first human character ever, and my first rigged robot-mesh. Thanks a lot to everyone who helped me with this.

Hi Alexander,

very good work, nice robot modeling nice girl, nice light...
but I dont like the hands in the foreground...are they necessary?
If you must really put something in this place maybe a digital bomb
with five second rest time...I know time is run very fast.

good luck

Hi there Alex!
Nice composition, but i wanted to say that those hands IMHO needs some more work (if they are human hands). They looks like either the fingers are kinda broken or the fist is in some kind of strange form. Dunno, see for Your self.
Other then that, everything looks great.

Hi Friends,

thanks a lot 4 the great & constructive Feedback.

@Ralf:: Hi, I knew the Idea with the Hands is not a new one, but it fits good into my conzept. Ny first Idea was to place a Character into the front, but in this perspective he would cover the whole Image. Another Idea was to place a shadow on the stairs with the contours of the villain, but it dosn´t work with my actual lighting. So i ran in circles... , I like your Idea also (very dramatik) but im afraid i don´t have enough time 4 this. I need 3 days of render Time and i could not render my elements seperate because of Global Illumination.
Nevermind... Vielen Dank für dein Tolles Feedback!!

@Gregory:: :blush: Thanks friend!

@Jonas:: I will work on this a little bit. Thank you friend.

Big thanks to all others in here.

Nice work, I like that heavy volumetric light. I used a blue one in my GSO 3d entry and
had a time getting it right. Be interesting to see how you lit the scene, like what other
lights you used. Now that I see yours I see that I left out the streaking effect that I
liked so much in my previous setup renders! I should have got the streaks to go thru the
red spaceship again...experience I guess.

I don't have time to go through all th epsts if I am honest so if someone said this then sorry. (victim of your own popularity here!). Seems to me that the composition of the original concpet was stronger than the final one, as it focus attention on the main players in the scene, and therefore made it about them and not the surrounding environment. I guess you had your reasons?

Hi Friends,

Virtuoso, eddieellis, ilusiondigital, Deadly Force, alex.h., Ludal, hhssuu, mbannani, arkinet, jddog, WildWire
(wow... thats a lot of feedback !!)

Muchas gratias friends for your great support. I´m blown away from all your post´s :blush::beer:

cmp:: I see your point, that´s always the problem when you deal in 3d. Your painting can be very great and dramatic and filled with action but you have to rebuild everything in 3d! And that result on your skills with the mouse and polygons. I tryed to do my best to get as close as possible on my sketch. I like the result or it won´t be my final ;) nevermind thanks a lot 4 your critique.

So if you like please take some time (maybe later) and read my thread and the hints from the people in here. Then you will see why my final picture lools like it now does :)

hi vampeta. the image shows your great technical skills. you like playing with lighting and you play it well. volume lights can make ordinary scene look awesome and it is so with yours. I can't say I like a lot this master & servant relationship of yours. as I read your story and see the image I see partnership of two friends of equal importancy... like stursky & hutch for example. I think this is partly because of the robot's gesture toward the girl. it's as if the robot (servant as you say) was giving orders (to the master).
do not misunderstand me - I like your image very much. I just think it doesn't fit too well in M&S relationship.

PS your grand space opera image is delicious and fits into topic well. congrats for both of these images! :applause:

Thanks grooshka,

Hmm... thats a good point of view. I wanted to show that LOAR (Servant) wants to protect his Master... holding her back from the danger... kepp her of the aktion if she like it or not ;)
He says: "LET ME HANDLE THIS" to make clear that he won´t let anything heappen to her!

Maybe my skills in rigging and posing aren´t not god enough. I dit my best on this!!
I like it to put a special mood to the pic. I had this volume light in mind from the beginning. my only problems where the Characters on this time ;)

Nevertheless i like to read that you like my pic!
hope to see (read) you soon back

Thanks a lot 4 the great support

Hi Vampeta...

Nive image, really neat volumic lights, good reference for myself since I am actually learning how to acomplish that kind of lighting. :)

Looks like a firs person shooting game scene... :) I have to confess though, I don`t really know why my first impresion was that the robot would be the master. I read he was saying something like, "Step aside you useless servant"... something like that, however now is more clear.

Nice image..! congratulations and good luck with it.!

Thanks Goro & Nakary!

It´s interesting to see how different people see the relationship between Master & her Servant.
I showed yesterday the picture to some of my friends to figure out how they see the relationship. Most of them had the same point of view like i do.

Nethertheless... it´s in the eye of the Viewer i think. If you like to see that LOAR is the Master pushing that useless Servant :) :) aside (Thanks Nakary 4 that ultracool quote :) :) Ha ha ha )
So feel free... I like both Ideas

See ya Friends

I like the general mood - light - in your image. However you need to improve the girl's anatomy. The hands in the foreground are a little 'off' but this is only my personal feeling. Nice job.

I really enjoyed watching this work come together, there's so many component sections that I love. But I think the end result misses the mark. My main problems: the womans legs look too squat in that pose (but in other shots she looks great), the mystery hands in front look a bit odd (plus too clean/difuse, no detail in the spec highlites) and I think there's too many unbroken horizontal and vertical lines in the image, especially in the railing on the staircase, where it's most noticable.

It's one of the better works in the overall competition, which is the reason I'm taking the time to write a critical response. I think the image has more potential but you need to push it to that next level.

Lemog :: Thanks Friend! Yeah ... let the games beginn ;)

riki :: Thanks for your great words & critique! I also know that there are a lot of thinks i still have to learn and a lot of thinks what i could do to improve this picture to a neverending end ;)
The time was shorter than the last time and the challenge was harder... specialy for me.

If you have two month time for a artwork... hmm that´s more than enough! But i have a dayjob and could only work in the evening on this... and my Girlfriend want´s to be also part of the moment ;) If i could only clone myself ;)

I have also some small points in this image that i don´t like (as bevore in my GSO image). But i´m satisfied with the end. Nevertheless thanks a lot 4 your feedback!

jadecilcleton & Tris3d :: Thanks a lot dudes

See Ya
