Okay i just read this;

And i am in love with thoes car textures :drool: he talks abouts how he made them.

"I use gradients on reflecting channels set by incidence angle to get that nice car paint fresnel effect like on real cars. I know much about cars; my first real job (after finishing school) involved fixing cars. And my father has been painting cars for past 28 years :). So this is probably why I model so much of them. I just love cars and enjoy driving them"

Now i am working on a little car project in Maya anyone know how to much such a texture in maya using his techniques ??

someone mentioned this in one of leighs texturing guides, i think #5, you might look for that, also lewis has a in depth car modelling tut over at lwg3d.com for lightwave, you might check over there for how he did it, on that black car i think he said his renders were like 10 hours with radiosity.
