Wow.. how'd this one sneak past my attention? Especially with such amazing texture and fantastic use of colour. Your texture is so delicate, I love the way the light bounces round the picture, especially off the skull guy's arm and that sickly yellow off his face. Ah ha, the bunny is a great touch too... putting something so cute on such a horrific monster just makes it all the more creepy.

As far as the mouth goes, I'd say if you put one in, but distort it somehow, it could be even creepier, or, if you stay with n mouth, add some more dips and peaks to suggest at one? Just some suggestions... it's looking amazing, either way.

izisilver: hi there mate! About the death.. thats my version of a death =) noone know how it really looks like, so I have open hands on this one.. hehe.. I just thought that normal bone arms will be borring, so I made some tweaks in my pic... add some maggots in flesh and skin to show whats death all about.. rotting and disappearing of a living being. Girls arms r not finished yet. But Im affraid that the mouth will come back :/ and the scythe is the only thing that is burning... thnx for ur long post!

Wonderful stuff. Tons of emotion in this one: I really like just... looking at it, drinking in the details. I love the awkwardness of her arms dangling from the strings and the look on her face. If I have any suggestion at all, it might adding a bit of contrasting colour to her eyes: something very discreet that will still draw our attention there.

Just wanted to toss in my 2c, there are SOOO many posts here commending your lovely work, so I won't take long here! I've been watching this thread silently and I'm astounded at how far you've gone in the last few weeks. It suddenly took on this wonderfully spooky aura!
I think you should pucker the skin around the mouth so it looks like he's sealed it up, but there used to be a mouth there....or maybe not. You're the artist! :arteest: Definitely in my top 10 no matter what...

I took about 5 hours right now, and came near the end of coloring phase. Coz of my new monitor, I had to slightly changed the levels, make pic a bit more dark... I hope not too much dark???
And a girl finally got her mouth.. hardly seen, but she got it. And some blood spray and lipstick all over her face...
I finished rendering her and most of the image as well, so there will be just some minor changes from now on. Last tweaks... it was about time :)

I really liked her without the mouth ..it gave the whole scene a special feeling.. i liked thinking of her being muted by the master & and it somehow really fit to the foggy & light rendering.... now the dark lips and smear attract the viewers attention immediately and make her less delicate imho ... but hey this is a personal taste and doesnt affect the greatness of your artwork.

Hiya ninja, it's looking fantastic!

One thing I just came up with (maybe somebody mentioned it earlier, if so I'm sorry), but shouldn't death hold these wooden crosses where the wires are attached to (don't know how to call them) like puppets usually have? The theme is clear for me right now, but the wires aren't all that visible (and they shouldn't be) and if you added crosses it would empasise the theme more IMO

Hi Rudeone! I appreciate ur suggestion :) but I was thinking a bit different... wooden crosses would show that puppet master theme for sure, and thats what I dont want it. Strings (hardly seen on purpose) r there just to show that the death has a posetion over the girl. Like an energy coming out of deaths fingers... controling his servant. But strings r just a symbol of that. So I didnt wanna to make so obvious and classic, and most of all, show that relation on first sight. And one broken string shows the will of a girl, who doesnt want to be possesed, and she struggle inside her self. That single string represents that. thank u for ur good critic :)

Almost there... yea.. Coz I dont have much time (paid projects) I'll finish this pic at this stage and say its done. I think I did what I had in mind, so everything else could just spoil the whole idea. I added some blood on the bed under dead guys head, change girls mouth a bit and this is it I think... Today or tomorow I'll play some more with the lighening and send the final version to the server :)

Vahn: I got used to without mouth version as well, but Im geting used for this one as well. Most of ppl wanted it and I was thinking about tham as well, just didnt know how to paint it, what would it looks like. But with a make-up I think it fits well, it gives more characteristic to a girl - clown/puppet. thnx for ur constructive critic!
