The best theme so far. Finally something to do with emotions. We can all start transforming our own such relationships into artwork.
Maybe I'll just let the boys do it for me. They wouldn't want to make their godfather upset...
Right fellaz? *whipping sounds*
Back to your cells!
03-22-2005, 07:25 AM
First of all I'd like to warm up considering technique and check out what comes to mind first considering ideas.
My first idea was (inspired by an old sketch of mine)addiction. Sad but true we are slaves to our habbits and some people can't control certain activities of theirs. I think one of my main master and servant guideline will be addiction between human and everyday accessories (alcohol/drugs/coffee/etc).
Okay now I'm off to have a sip of Vodka...
Must get that "precious"... :)
03-22-2005, 07:58 AM
This first sketch could also mean that some masters are slaves as well! i'm thinking of drawing a hierarchical system containing more than one relationship, for example maybe the green guy up there is a professor of some kind and one of his students could be his servant...
...while he's beeing a slave to the smoke he's inhaling...hmm.
03-22-2005, 01:36 PM
I don't like the idea of slavery, but this character just feels slavish in a positive meaning. He's got pride, but isn't free...
To me the look on his face is quite clear:
don't push me, cause I'm close to the edge, I'm trying not to loose my head, say what!
03-22-2005, 01:38 PM
that expression 's looking pretty good yeah!
keep up the good work
03-22-2005, 01:43 PM
yeh looking great!!
03-22-2005, 02:03 PM
I'm lovin' this challenge already! Got so many ideas, just need to draw the heck away!
Good luck to everyone!
03-22-2005, 05:20 PM
Just checking out wether I should go in a not too serious direction...
haven't decided yet, so far my first sketch means the most to me concerning story or "idea" but I'm letting myself fool around for a couple of days, trying to post as much images as I can...already left out a couple. for the better :)
03-22-2005, 05:24 PM
Oh and by the way about the image above...
we can see some sort of king toying around with his harlequin puppet. Not evil, rather absent minded or what...still a master
i don't know about the tongue though :D ...
03-22-2005, 05:32 PM
This time i was trying to capture the "master" facial expression, with a little touch of "Godfather" minus the beard...we'll see...
03-22-2005, 05:33 PM
Haha... i love that puppet one....
03-22-2005, 05:43 PM
lovin the latest, great cross hatch style.
03-22-2005, 06:35 PM
Awesome concept of addiction. The green Einstein smoking a bud is my favorite. Though addiction is a wretched torment, you've managed to express that pain softly, and without any head snapping off type of violence (which I've already noticed a lot of in this contest). Bravo!
What was Einstein a slave to? His own intelligence? The government industrial complex? Probably all that and cigarettes too.
03-22-2005, 06:57 PM
An everyday relationship... :)
By the looks of this dude I'd say the balloon is his master! :D
We're all slaves to our balloons aren't we?! still having fun brainstroming! I'm just drawing my day through...
03-22-2005, 07:01 PM
Yo thanks for the kind words!
I'm trying to take on "addiction" cause that's what I preffer as a theme so far out of these at least. But! I'm still gonna have my fun no matter what!
Yikeees! Only 57 days left!!! :D
03-22-2005, 07:05 PM
One more image today if I have time...
just one last one...
if my fiancée let's me...:)
03-22-2005, 07:37 PM
haha like ur latest one!
03-22-2005, 08:31 PM
 It's nice! Good luck!
03-22-2005, 09:56 PM
Ádám bátyám, tetszik amit müvelsz, csak ne hagyd abba!
Great sketches. Like the one with the balloon most. Kinda fresh idea. Kinda winner-idea...hehe.
Good luck, keep it up man!
03-22-2005, 10:03 PM
I love the "everyday relationship." one the best so far
03-23-2005, 06:33 AM
I'm a fan of the smoking one and the balloon one. Another kudos for the addiction theme. Are you going to keep the sketchy style for the final piece? It's very expressive.
03-23-2005, 07:08 AM
I'm still messing around with styles and methods (analog/digital) I'm letting myself doodle around for a week or two after that I'm deciding, but maybe I'll go with one of my ideas this week already. I'm only a slave to time. nothing else.
My dream is to make a cgchoice award-like image (in quality) for this one.
/Space opera didn't let me do that, although I did sort of finish it. My time management sucked on that one -I was a last minute idiot... not now, this time I'm in it from day one!/
03-23-2005, 07:19 AM
Your hatching work is awesome! i love the drama of the first facial expression study (red) Good Luck!
03-23-2005, 10:24 AM
I'll be uploading a couple of ideas today as well. last night I just drank my beer and wen't to sleep.
Now back to my pencils!
03-23-2005, 11:09 AM
Oh boy, you make me laugh... The thing with the beer... damn, I can´t remember joining this challenge, I can´t remember posting my pic, I can´t remember posting at you... I wake up today and it´s like: Wasn´t there a challenge on cgn, or was it just a dream? I check and what do I see? A thread started by me, some hungarian guy wishes me luck, a pic that wasn´t made for this challenge and weird shit written all around... (by me obviously). This morning was like waking up from a nightmare...
But I´m happy to meet you and I still enjoy your work in these moments of clearity. Go for it dude, I´ll be watchin´, I promise.
03-23-2005, 11:43 AM
Still sketching, exploring facial qualities, expressions, poses, the guy in the right bottom of this one could be an angry servant...
...or an evil master?
to be continued...
03-23-2005, 11:46 AM
nevermind his dislocated shoulder though! :D
will be experimenting with color later on today...
03-23-2005, 12:35 PM
Still sketching, exploring facial qualities, expressions, poses, the guy in the right bottom of this one could be an angry servant...

03-23-2005, 12:38 PM
trying to be funny AGAIN, boring isn't it?! another cliché idea, but I'm still posting it! covering all sides of this master servant relationship...
more to come...hopefully
03-23-2005, 12:42 PM
Okay a double submission again! Damn it! I didn't do that on purpose!
Moral: don't hit the refresh button after you've submitted one of your milestones.
Sorry about that.
Before anyone asks: yes this is all I'm doing all day!
gotta study though tonight :(
03-23-2005, 04:32 PM
I think the black guy who built the snowman should smile... otherwise I can´t link his expresstion to the exclamation mark above his head...
Az én orromat rajzoltad, öreg (a felsö). Arra copyrightom van:twisted: ...;)
Keep em coming!
03-23-2005, 05:01 PM
hehhe i luv ur concepts!
03-23-2005, 05:53 PM
yo guys! thanks for watching out!
I'm planning to post another concept tonight (hopefully in full color!) check back later (like after midnight :)
the snowman sketch was just a quicky, wanna get serious sooner or later...no fooling around!
03-24-2005, 12:44 AM
so much for color...
still haven't chosen a final concept, but why hurry 55 days to go, I'll be posting constantly to keep you guys up to date, this last one is quite vector illustration style, but it's just a black coakie and three clicks in photoshop...
the eyes are key areas...
will do a study later on
also practicing life drawing again...
got to learn a lot!
anyways till next time g'night!
03-24-2005, 12:50 AM
the dark red spot (actually the background) carries quite a big opportunity in it's form...
if you look carefully between the master and the servant you could see a woman like figure (okay it's not that obvious use your imagination ;) )
well if not then forget it...
03-24-2005, 03:30 AM
Good ideas so far. I sure do like the snowman one....it just "works".
I also like the smoking master as well.
Can't wait to see what you decide on.
03-24-2005, 09:26 AM
This one I just did to see how a blown up compo would turn out. I mean the little chizzle in the middle would be fixed there, but his lord's hand would be throwing him a biscuit on the right side of the image, while we could see his face on the other side of the page...
if the connection is readable, then it might work, I just got carried away with crosshatches (this is by no means a study of light or anatomy, cause both these issues suck right here...
got to do more hand studies!
03-24-2005, 09:30 AM
love the teeth on this guy haha,ur gunna have to teach me crosshatching one day.
03-24-2005, 09:33 AM
In this image above the situation would be about a little servant dude annoying his master, who, just can't handle the case so he just chucks a cookie now and then to ease up the fellah. The expression on the little guy isn't even slavish, but rather insane...
03-24-2005, 09:36 AM
Great work man,:bounce: A lot of nice concepts and sketches.Like the ballon guy!!he,he.The last obe with the biscuit is really nice too.Indeed he's got a great pair of teeth:D
Curious where youll be heading finally,so I'll sure be back!!!
Good luck and fun to you!!!
03-24-2005, 09:37 AM
Thanks NOOB! I like the fact that you come back to check in every now and then, feels good! I'm also keeping an eye on your thread!
Armored Saint, thanks, I'll try gather a couple of more ideas, and eventually I'll choose, just waiting for that "AAAH that's it! " experience...
03-24-2005, 09:39 AM
Thanks OKMER I'll check on your thread as well!
good luck and lotsa inspiration to everyone! this challenge is a blessing :)
03-24-2005, 01:44 PM
I like the development of your ideas. Some orgininality in layout and subject for this challenge. The cross hatching looks good, nice dreamlike quality to the image.
03-24-2005, 02:37 PM
I like this latest idea a lot. It seems like a fresh take on the whole thing, the annoying side of Master-n-Servitude: What happens when being the Master is just a drag? You could push the whole idea further with an appropriate expression on the master's face, not just a disembodied hand... but like you observed, you still have plenty of time to explore. Good luck with it!
03-24-2005, 03:08 PM
tanks for the input! I'm a big fan of brainstorming so I'll probably let myself sketch around in totally different styles for a couple of days, see if I can set my mind in a non conventional way of thinking and just go for my best idea...
check back leter for more to come...
03-24-2005, 03:13 PM
great style graffic.
you have a style unique.
03-24-2005, 03:42 PM
tick tock!! lets see more!!
03-24-2005, 03:50 PM
yeah a composition like that could work out pretty cool, has to be clear how it all fits together then tho :)
keep the updates coming :D
03-24-2005, 04:05 PM
I love the third sketch, but all your sketches are so cool. I'm looking forward to see you bringing one of them to ze next stage.
03-24-2005, 04:06 PM
I thought adding a couple of floating bubbles won't hurt...
well it did, but someone may like the warped idea, I'm just posting to see what responses I get. Dig the round shaped cracks on the midgets teeth from all that ball munching. hee-hee
flipped the image, cause how would it look not being flipped?! hehehe...
03-24-2005, 04:09 PM
thanks for the attention guys as I said earlier I'm loving this whole contest it just makes me piss in my pants to take part Lol!
that's why I'm managing things from the toilet on my tablet PC...
okay that wasn't funny
I'll try stick to one of my concepts sooner or later...
03-24-2005, 04:14 PM
the teeth haha,i luv em,man can't wait to see more.
have fun in the toilet man.
03-24-2005, 04:19 PM
The idea of being annoyed, but still not quite being able to dismiss the servant rather fricken' cool. :bounce:
Have you tried giving the pest a more exitied / enamored look? Something along the lines of not really knowing he's annoying or menacing, but simply overjoyed at being a servant, and always underfoot. Right now, it looks as though the pest is about to latch onto his masters delicates, and turn 'em into a tug toy.
Also, bubble snacks sound good. Post a recipe if you have the time.
03-24-2005, 05:08 PM
All my encouragement for this new challenge,
03-24-2005, 05:12 PM
These are great! I like the range of styles that you are able to cook up quickly :) I'll check back soon to see how you progress! :)
03-24-2005, 07:41 PM
Great job sketching out so many different ideas. For some reason I find the tooth cracked midget extremely captivating, but your addiction idea is great too. If you could combine the imagery of the first with the concept of the second it would be hynotizing. Keep up the good work.
03-24-2005, 08:43 PM
It's really an honor to have all these comments from you guys! I promise I'll do my best through out the whole challenge, because it truly means a lot to me. I've been a member of other cg forums (I'm not going to name) and I haven't seen so many people help each other out like we do here on cgtalk. Very inspiring.
later on I'll post a technique I'm using nowadays for inspiration, nothing extra, just a very interesting experiment anyone can try out...
untill then... ...do your thing!
03-26-2005, 05:14 PM
i'm waiting,cmon its been...1 day...ok thats not much,but hah,i'm excited to see what u got.
03-28-2005, 08:59 AM
Hi Guys, thanks for lookin' out! I'm really keen on working consistently on this challenge, and I have been so far, it's just these sh*t exams I've got that get in the way (you see I'm not studying what I love)
BUT that doesn't mean I'm not sketching away everyday a bit!
This week I'm plannig to upload another set of ideas and try to stick with one, see if it works out...
my sketchbook is your servant...
03-28-2005, 09:52 AM
Oh and earlier i said I1d give away a "secret" of mine about a brainstorming technique!
Well here you go:
So for all those right handed artists out there:
DARE TO USE YOUR LEFT HAND WHEN WORKING OUT IDEAS!
FOR ME IT WORKS!
THE THING IS THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRAW ACCURATE LINES, BUT YOUR COMPOSITION AND RELATIVE PROPORTIONS SHOULD BE EXTRAORDINARY! IT WON'T BE ANYTHING LIKE DOING IT WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND.
THIS ONLY GOES FOR THE INITIAL IDEA AND COMPOSITION! WHEN WORKING OUT YOUR LINE ART SWITCH BACK TO YOUR RIGHT.
explanation: when using different hands your mind uses different hemispheres (right hand>>left hemisphere, left hand>>right hemisphere) and correct me if I'm wrong, but your right hemisphere is responsible for creative thinking.
in a nutshell.
Hope you can benefit from it!
draw without greed! (I also read this somewhere, conceptart.org I think)
and if it doesn't work please don't be mad at me, I just wanted to share a technique that works for me. everyone is different!
03-28-2005, 09:57 AM
Nice flip adamos:D And uh,your idea of morking out your ideas with our lefthand,uh Adamos...We only got 6 weeks left!!!:D
No,seriously now, that's kinda treu and really amusing what you said there.
Now,the image, nice idea of the bubbles and nice sketch too!!!
Maybe it coulb be cool to see the servant jump up a bit with his arms in the air trying to catch this bubbles.
03-28-2005, 08:56 PM
i tried ur technique and it worked for me.
i wonder if that works for better shaving
*stabs eye with razor*
03-28-2005, 09:09 PM
Diggin' the work you've posted, Adam. Those little creatures look great =)
03-29-2005, 02:03 PM
Still loving the balloonguy most... and the two faces are great.
Ja, és egy elkésett nagy nyuszit sok tojással... remélem megvolt^^
03-30-2005, 06:32 PM
Well went back to my first sketch and just felt like coloring a bit so...I did. Just uploading it to show some activity...actually this is far from what I'm dreaming of, just let me get my hands on some spare time...
03-30-2005, 06:34 PM
Peteboy: Thanks a lot bro, same to you!
03-30-2005, 07:08 PM
-állatira tetszenek a rajzaid! Már a múltkor is üde folt voltál itt a sok "nagyfiú" között
-az + különösen tetszik, hogy több stílusban is otthon vagy!
Good luck! Good to see you in this competition
03-30-2005, 07:20 PM
yeh lookin gud!!!
wait...just for activity!!!??
we need the newness.
03-31-2005, 06:58 AM
Kornél: Thank You!
Köszönöm a biztatást! Félek, hogy el fogok menni egy ilyen nagyfiús irányba, ha addigra sikerül megtanulnom feasteni :), vonz is (mert tényleg lenyűgözőek kivitelezésben, témában viszont néha...de ezt Te is tudod...;)
Yo dude! I don't have time unfortunately for this challenge 24/7 cause I'm still a student in a school I don't even like so, it's tough luck for me...
Although my heart and soul wants me to draw all day long, so as soon as I get the final idea I'll try to put in 200% of energy and go for it!
Thanks for looking out!
03-31-2005, 11:27 AM
This next idea I'd like to introduce is about a metamorphosis of a servant. How a servant becomes a master, or maybe how a master becomes a servant? I'll throw up my warming up sketches and then we'll see...
03-31-2005, 11:28 AM
The actual idea can be seen on the left side of the group of random sketches...
03-31-2005, 11:28 AM
damn u updating the same time as me!!!
looking great,keep goin man!
03-31-2005, 11:30 AM
The master should be on top, I know this doesn't look like a metamorphosis from servant to master, but I just was pleased with a couple of elements of this sketch...
to be continued...
04-01-2005, 06:41 AM
I had a go with a pencil yesterday and well I know it's another totally different concept but what the hell...I' still in the middle of the learning process, I know that this guys sleeve is a bit sloppy, I'll work on that later on...
just wanted to capture some kind of mood...
04-01-2005, 06:44 AM
I'm actually posting all sorts of sketches I made for this challenge and I'm not satisfied with any of them, maybe I'll check back to my early sketches, maybe I'll explore new concepts...
04-01-2005, 07:21 AM
ur style is so great man!,can't wait till u get a final concept
04-01-2005, 07:24 AM
i love the latest sketch, dont know about the idea is there one yet?
04-01-2005, 08:31 AM
went back to one of my first concepts (the puppet one) and gave it a twist...
the thing is that there are too many puppet concepts around the whole challenge which is obvious, cause it's a clean relationship between master and servant...
I dunno yet...
what do you guys think? is this version of the puppet-slave thinggy original or cliché?
04-01-2005, 08:39 AM
Okay the thing is I'm taking at least one or two days off this challenge, cause i got too hooked with all the brainstorming. It's easy to see that I' ve got several mediocre or sh*tty concepts...
still waiting for something special...
until then I'm practising the basics >>>>>>
no photoshop, no computer, just the pencil and me...
04-01-2005, 11:49 AM
Dude, I LOVE this one! Really! One single spotlight, black backgrount and BUMM!!! This is great! It is thinggy, original and cliché, but it´s the "From Dusk Till Dawn" kind of thinggyness, originality and chliché. Just explosive.
04-01-2005, 12:56 PM
If I could get some more crits on the last sketch I'd be thankful!
Just concerning the idea on the character itself, please?!...
04-01-2005, 08:56 PM
Blimey! There's such a diversity of sketches, ideas and styles here!!
There's some really cool images. I love the first puppet sketch. The cartoony creature with the puppet on his tongue. Almost like he's teasing his puppet that he might eat him! I commented on that one earlier because it jumped out on the 'view entries' pages.
The sketch with the hand in the cigarette smoke is cool too. My girlfriend gave up smoking a couple of years ago... and there's definitely some of the 'master and servant' relationship in addiction.
The ballon sketch is hilarious... The guy's expression is perfect. But who's the master? Who's the servant?
And that snowman image is just... just... just... hahahahaha... Not sure which is master or servant though??
I like the idea of a woman figure in the negative space in the image with the two guy's faces. That could be fantastic!! It reeeeally could be funny and original. And those women... *sigh*... i think they probably are the masters... This is a reeeeally clever idea. Maybe difficult to pull off...?
The hand and the head thing... i grew up with three pet dog's. It's amazing how food can focus the attention. I'm not sure i'd read that image right without the text though...?
The page with all the cross-hatched pencil drawings... the drawings are great. Really nice. Particularly the 'travelling servant'. But there's no resolved idea for the master and servant theme... so they all need something 'extra'...
And then there's the final puppet image. It's a well realised image. The anatomy of the 'master' arm is really nicely done, in the way it extends and grows in scale. And the bowed head (witrh a noose??!) and limp arm work well. But i'm still not sure it shouts out 'master and servant'. What's he a slave to...? Himself..? Why..? Is it addiction again..? Will there be something on the arm to suggest this? it could be a really great image compositionally. But there needs to be something extra... At the moment i don't really 'get it'. But i'd like to... cause it's a strong image!
I reckon it'd be worthwhile playing some more with this image. There is plenty of time. And there's peeps out in the forum who'll drop by and give you their views.
Hopefully i've not waffled on too much with my views... :D
04-01-2005, 09:05 PM
duddleboy shud write a book....
nice update ad,one thing though.................WHENS THE FINAL IDEA COMMIN!
04-01-2005, 11:11 PM
Duddlebug! Thanks really! Your comment meant a lot! I'm reconsidering a couple of things seriously...
yo NOOB, ina minute I'm gonna check out your thread...better find some funky stuff there, or else! I wish I could settle down and go with one idea all the way, something "clicked" though so I'll be posting asap...
Everyone have a lovely weekend!
04-03-2005, 04:51 PM
hahaaaaaaaaa got ya there, what color WIP?! it's just ANOTHA sketch, going for the world record of most sketches submitted in a single contest, hehe,...
verrrrry funny :S
04-03-2005, 05:09 PM
I promise only six more totally different concept sketches, maybe seven...
but if you check closely this last one's a version of the previous one! Very elegantly excecuted...heeehee,...not.....wot?!?
Oh and dunno if it's readable, but this chap here is the master of himself, so he's a slave to his masterself...
wanted to put a needle in the slave hand just to illustrate the catch 22 of drug addiction, but I just felt that I'll do this test and see what it'll look like without the needle....
so the hierachical circle would be the following:
the guy is the slave to his drug addiction (which is here represented by his right hand) and he's constantly serving this right hand with the needle (heroin perhaps? hmmm?) so he is masterAndservant. two-in-one, double the value for ya money!
what tha heck do ya think?
I think I gotta ease up on the philosophy and just make a funny ass piktcha...hmmm
04-03-2005, 05:18 PM
bro! the last concept is awsome,i like the perspective.
whats this? a puppetier hangin himself? thats kinda surreal.i luv.
as for my thread,i asked everyone if they agree with sum ideas about the dilema which is coloring my piece, wud luv to get ur opinion..
04-03-2005, 05:44 PM
Love the last one. As I already said, that is my fav, but:
The perspective is kind of too heavy and you should make his face and his expressions visible. That´s what this challenge is all about, right?
Yeah, and at everyone asking himself "what the hell that is?", I´m gonna tell you... That pic with the puppet is the ultimate sensetheory of Albert Cann, who said that life has no sense, that human has to give it one. Human is the servant of his own decisions and the master of his actions. I think there is no need for any needles. Just take a look at Meat Meier´s pics and you´re gonna ask yoursef aswell what that is about and if you look long enough, you might get it and you will realize, that there is much more hidden in them than just experimenting with zbrush and maya. Art is to express something and Ádám-dude, what you are doing is sowhat badass art.
Nyomúljunk testvér, nyomúljunk!
04-03-2005, 06:13 PM
Thanks NOOB! check out my crit in your thread! but don't take it 4 granted!
Nice to get these really cool comments from you! I really dig this last one and I even learned from it! made me think about the meaning of art and life for a second...
Keep up your progress too bro!
még szép hogy, muszáj, mert néma gyereknek Anyja se érti a művészetét!
na jó ez erős volt...
meg nem is illik ide, pffff hehe
04-03-2005, 07:34 PM
Okay I made the final decision!
It's gonna be a digital copper engraving, how about that for a change?
maximum 3 colors allowed for me from now on!
woooohaaaaa fulll of speeedy energy!!
check back for details!
04-03-2005, 10:41 PM
I like your colours!
04-03-2005, 11:09 PM
I like the last concept. The puppet idea is cliche, but you have taken it in a non-cliche direction.
It also seems to have meaning: we are our own masters but often hang ourselves by our actions (the last sketch even seems to have a noose there) - clean and simple but powerful.

Thanks Ordibble P!
You are absolutely right the puppet thing is worn out, and a total cliché and I also think I managed to give it a twist, but what's coming after this pushes the bounderies even further....
and further... I hope to get as far away from the cliché as possible, with all my heart I'll be working on that I promise! this means a lot to me!! true!
the puppet idea is my servant I'll try to master it!
thanks for looking by!
04-04-2005, 12:35 AM
It will have a meaning...
I'm hoping to hide a message, or at least make people think about it for a while!
want to make it technically good as well, but idea is prior!
04-04-2005, 07:53 AM
I'm using puppets too, but wow your concept is awesome, master and servant at the same time, great idea.
04-04-2005, 08:01 AM
u've got nice sketching style there, the last one is nice, for me... gogogo:thumbsup:
04-04-2005, 02:08 PM
you have got a very original and interesting style!
04-05-2005, 10:05 AM
What a great new avatar!!!
-ne várass, rajzold tele nekik a szájtjukat jól a remek skicceiddel!
Yes go on:)Your drawings are cool;)
04-05-2005, 04:32 PM
yep waiting for the next update adam.
and yes..i will get an avatar...evetually.
04-05-2005, 06:00 PM
Like the pupeteer - much potential! I like the first angle/composition better than the second and it could probably be fleshed out a bit in terms of detail, but awesome concept - Go go go!
love the idea and your sketches look great!
Keep it up!
04-06-2005, 09:41 AM
First of all - how come I've not seen this before?!
Secondly: you have such a vibrant sketching style! I go 'yay!' when I look through these. Idea after idea, and then, wham! you nail it with the puppet dancing to his own strings. Absolutely spiffing concept, I love it! Don't you dare not finishing that painting.
04-06-2005, 10:02 AM
arlutik: thanks, checking out your thread in a moment! Iknow this puppet idea is so obvious that you can't go by it, but I thought a lot until I came up with this one, and it's still not final yet, more to come (more detail, more drama)
eclipson: thanks! trying hard to bring it on a couple of days every week, not easy, cause I've got university going on as well and that's got nothing to do with art :(!
fooxoo: thanks bro, nice to get a compliment like that!
kornel: szervusz, örülök, hogy tetszik az avatarom, nekem meg tetszik a pályamunkád, de ezt már azt hiszem túl sokszor mondom...:)
Jopa: thanks, waiting for your entry! let me know when you're posting!
NOOB!: yo bro! keep up the...so you've got a message involving the media in your pic! that's great man! I love it when there's a message in a piece! That' communication between artist and art lover!
Fardak: thanks, interesting, cause I like the second perspective better! :) we'll see...still got a couple of ideas in my head! thanks for coming by!
Goro: thanks daily sketch friend! loving your piece! good humor in it! cheers!
Okay one last thought: I'm not willing to do a single entry! no ways! have to take on another idea of mine just to see how it works, that's also a pupet one, the gtreen king monster and his jolly joker puppet,...and the recent concept as well...
Enayla: an honor! I'm shaking while writing this, (true) but gee thanks...I won't dare not finishing! no ways mastress! :) pheeew wher's my vodka?!... hehe, thanks for the input really appreciated!
to be continued!
thanks for comin' by!
Dude... great work, very energetic! I get a real sense of enthusiasm from your work, top notch!
04-10-2005, 11:30 PM
Finally had some time to update, I know this is a week sketch, but really trying to expand the concept with a facial expression (you know, emotion and stuff). I'm also thinking of the color schem I might let grey into my world (such a happy "color") but still not sure about it...
I've got everything under control though :)
04-10-2005, 11:33 PM
Wanna work harder now, cause this bloody university (not an art school unfortunately) nearly got the better of me damn it!
04-10-2005, 11:41 PM
WHAT? You're NOT STUDYING TO BE A PROFESSIONAL ARTIST?!!! Sorry, but that just totally blew me away... LOL, I mean... I just assumed all the bitchin' you did about exams were art projects and such. With talent like that, how can you not consider getting into the art profession?! *shakes head in wonder*
Anyhoo... I was absolutely enthralled by your concept sketches... couldn't get enough of them. And you have some reall winner ideas there! Can't wait to see which one you'll go with (I rather liked the puppet trying to control himself... ah, self-mastery... something we all want to achieve)
Keep up the great work... I'll be checkin' back for your updates.
Oh, what are you taking at university anyway?
04-10-2005, 11:42 PM
what's up dude,
Man, all your sketches and studies are very consistant. From the style to the idea, it gives you a sense of having originality. This new piece you have is cool. I think the expression really works and is a good add on, because it really helps in getting the audience involve and capture their attention. Your piece can have such a wide interpretation, but i can definately see the Master & Servant theme. Simple, yet effective in communicating. I'll keep checking up your updates dude.
04-11-2005, 09:27 AM
artjunkie: well I'd never be a bitch about an art project! :D no Sir! I'd be a slave to the profession, and I'm trying real hard to get in! Just sort of have to finish this technical university, which I really hate doing, (but the more I say this the worse it gets, so I'll just act like I'm okay with it...:/ ). The thing is I'm not an masochist: if I knew that I'd have a place at a company for sure as a concept artist I'd leave this sh*tty place in a jiffy, but I don't, so this is what's left! In all my spare time I'm practising drawing (went back to the basics: drawing after life, but trying to master this freaky wacom tablet AND do 3D all at once...would ya imagine?! not easy, but it'll develop!) Thanks for looking by! Checked your thread too and I'm amazed by your landscape!
Arc80: thanks man! I also checked on your thread, interesting interpretation of the subject! keep it up!
...wanna post more today...
04-12-2005, 12:00 AM
Trying to get a descent comp together! I hope in my final image everything will be confusing as hell Lol! No actually I'd like to make a readable image (but it doesn't matter if it's got more than one ways of interpreting the "story"). So I've got a facial expression, some spooky shadows, and this self puppeteering thing lined up. and some really mystical light from above casting a shadow of the master! Or no! Actually the area of light is the real master master, and the shadows are just "illustrations" of the situation: the dude is an addict of somekind, so he's slave to his addiction, but he's not the real master obviously (although his right hand wants to be it!) but the thing he's addicted to IS. complicated?! We'll see...
not too complicated...
04-12-2005, 12:10 AM
I don't know about color though! I like my black black version of this last concept so far! But this new shadow-light game could be interesting...hmmm, the area of light representing the master...the highest master.
okay I'll get back to this tomorrow!
04-12-2005, 12:40 AM
I love the shadows on the ground it adds up to the mood, great thinking
04-12-2005, 07:53 AM
Thanks I hope get everything into place so I can start getting dirty with the details, I don't know whether i should use colors or go nuts with black and white crosshatch style?!
04-12-2005, 09:38 AM
i luv the shadows too,but bro...cmon...time is of the essence hehe.get into it.!!
04-12-2005, 10:27 AM
What's up dude,
Thanks for the suggestion on my piece (fixing the hair of the female when i get back to work on it). Anyway, yours is looking nice and the style is also complements your subject matter.
I really like it, because you can ralate to it in a personal level. Can't wait to see more dude.
04-12-2005, 11:25 AM
Nice deadly sketch...!
-szia! na, csak kivártam... nagyon jó a téma, tetszenek a koponyák ott alant!
-egyszer már el kell magadat határozni...
hi there... just stoppin by to check out your work. its a very cool idea you have in the works here. cant wait to see some bg on this thing though... anywho not much else to say as of right now. so good luck and ill be back to check out more updates!
04-12-2005, 12:51 PM
Really appreciate it!
So the final decision has been made! I'm going BLACK and WHITE! Thanks to Kornel! fixing up the scen to be a great grotesque spooky, but funkadelic scene and then I'm nailing it with my wacom!
yep, and those shadows play a part in the scene but I hope the light takes the major funk! Getting ready, steady....
Thanks NOOB I've decided bro! And Archie you also keep on funking up your image! Check you guys later on...
Kornél: Thank you so much, you said two words, but gave me lots of help!
04-12-2005, 12:52 PM
Thanks Slav! Updates are coming!
04-12-2005, 01:59 PM
I registered to CGTALK only to post this comment for your entry.
The concept is superb. Hands down the best idea from all the entries so far and I have been watching the contest for 4-5 days now.
You have to finish it, even though to me it looks perfect as it is. The poster-like style at the moment works great.
I have to agree that the idea is exceptional and the minimalistic state is really striking. Be careful not to Bob Ross it! The simpler the better in this case.
04-12-2005, 11:41 PM
Thank You kindly Anastas! It's a true honor to hear this, but I'm sure there are better concepts than mine! I really appreciate your post it encourages me to work even harder! Really thanks!
Khye: thanks! The truth is I'm a sucker for nice details so I'll be going mad sooner or later with the 0.1 point black pen I've got, and when I scan the image I'll probably do the same in digital.
But I'll be careful not to mess things up. Thanks for the input!
Now. I went to the nearest art shop yesterday and bought myself 2 kgs of clay...wanna sculpt out my idea and draw it don or take a photo for reference, but sculpting isn't easy either, so I might just leave that for another contest. Firs I've gotta check how it goes...if it's good I'll post a photo of it. If not then I'll just pretend I never touched clay...
extraspecial powers activated!
check ya'll out tomorrow!
04-13-2005, 12:54 AM
This thread is bitchin', man. I'm thoroughly glad it took you so long to make up your mind, because paging through all these different concepts was a real treat. I've seen some of your work, but never in such large volume, and I'm very very impressed. The enthusiasm with which you push yourself in new and different directions is really refreshing...keep it up!
04-13-2005, 04:50 AM
Very bold colors. It's a very powerful piece, immediately readable concept. Excellent all around. I know you'll probably add more details or possibly go with another approach, but I really like the boldness of the large shapes of color. Very powerful indeed!
04-13-2005, 01:19 PM
Well today I started making some clay refs for my final, just to make everything top notch...
and I ended up doing this idiotic joke, actually the skull was gonna be a practise , but then he started misbehaving...
...so I had to make him my art slave, from now on he's doing all the work for me :D
okay back to work, nxt up I'll try some hand studies...for that master hand!!
04-13-2005, 01:30 PM
Jeff: thanks man, you're welcome all the time :), wanna work hard on this project, so check back fo' some otha stuff yo! Checked out your thread, keep going! Cheers!
Jamihn: thanks an honor, I loved your piece! very nice rendering technique you have there!
check you later!
04-13-2005, 01:36 PM
HAHAHA... dude, that is so cool and freakin funny. Wicked!!!
04-13-2005, 02:41 PM
so cool pic dude
04-13-2005, 02:51 PM
Cool .the message you ahve entered is too short. please lenghen your message by at least 10 characters. (thats me trying to stick it to the man! Whichever man makes the rules stating that nobody can justsimply say 'cool')
04-13-2005, 02:54 PM
I love that man. Looks fantastic, and even from the thumbnail I got the joke.
04-13-2005, 03:40 PM
Actually I'm thinking of keeping it as a second concept...
ya know that song?.... *I started a joke...lala- la- la .....etc*
btw is from now on not "by the way" but "back to work" what a linguist I am all of a sudden :/
okay BTW :)
Ch::rs! : D : M
i love all your sketches they are full of life and energy... cant wait for you to get a concept down though... should be interesting.
04-13-2005, 03:54 PM
Classic! He's like a dog with a stick... wish I had an art slave... :applause:
04-13-2005, 08:19 PM
I really DID go and fiddle with clay! Any sculptor out there would probably laugh at the sticks I used for stabilising my clayman (without a head) I didn't want to risk his head falling off so I just left that out, getting reeeaaaal serious with this challenge, but I1m having the fun of my life...
back to work...
04-13-2005, 08:22 PM
nice ref, can't wait to see the finished art.
04-13-2005, 08:30 PM
Damn I need a digital camera. Nice way to work this out.
04-13-2005, 08:52 PM
And a sculptor, too! What medium are you going to teach yourself next? Pyrotechnics? Sand castles? Bone carving?
I really like the perspective from the photos of your model. Makes me think of "despair".
Can't wait to see the next sketches. :)
04-13-2005, 09:06 PM
dude, u really put a lot of effort into this thing, love ur approach. waiting for some more...
04-14-2005, 12:11 AM
Since I made this clay bastard I'm making it my brainstorming b*tch for tonight, the thing is: addiction is still the concept, but how about being addicted to freakin ART?!. I mean I've been working on this challenge for days now and I'm also getting a wee bit insomniac (NOT enjoying it), but I'm still just drawing and drawing and...can't get hooked off this motha! So long for my clay helper here (I spent at least 3 hours making it, and now it's falling apart and cracking like a mofo all over the place, altho I took a zillion shots from a billion angles...
now where did I leave my pencil?!!...;/
interesting approach. The clay model looks cool.
I'm looking forward to sse the progress!
04-14-2005, 04:57 PM
Yo man, your clay servant is looking nice. I think everyone here is addicted to ART. hell you're not the only one who doesn't go to sleep here, HAHAHA. Keep it coming dude.
cheers and :buttrock:
04-14-2005, 08:00 PM
This pose is a bit wierd some parts are okay, but lots aren't...
still a long way to go...
04-14-2005, 08:03 PM
that looks f**kin great bro,i love the exaggerated stylizing on the neck and limbs.cross hatching great also.
04-14-2005, 10:28 PM
No crits at all! Your research work inspires! My mastah!
04-15-2005, 03:41 PM
Hi Adamos! Ha, ha, ha, great idea! I like a self portrait. I feel me identified with it. Say... The guy with the whip is the client or yourself? Could be both anyway. Ha! Your sculpture-sketch process is really interesting. One comment: thinking in ther realistic aproach to the puppet and looking at the other sketches you made I prefer the most caricaturesque of them. Good luck!
haha very nice approach adamos ... the last sketch is great & i am looking forward to your composition :D
en is izzadok egy pizit :P
04-15-2005, 04:24 PM
I looked through the whole tread, neat style, the latest sketc - poor you!
04-15-2005, 07:47 PM
Öcsém, ez brutális:twisted: . Jól látom, hogy egy nyílvesszö áll ki a fejéböl? Nem mondom, nem csodálom, hogy vért izzad...
...and this HUGE right arm! Man, this is just creepy great stuff! Beautiful inking! Keep em coming! I´m a fan:buttrock: :) .
04-15-2005, 08:34 PM
NOOB! : yo bro! thanks, just checked your stuff (sent you some energy for ya coloringz)
victim335 : my work inspiring?! This just made me VERY happy! :):):) Thanks! After all the inspiration I got from other artists, it feels great to inspire someone! Means a lot!
kaparo: Thanks Amigo! The guy with the wip is ME!, but I'm also playing the part of the artist controlled by upper powers, yet by himself as well! Love your artwork! Thanks for checking in!
Vahn: Thanks Adrian! I also like your concpt. RESPECT for doing everything with a mouse ( I read that in a post in your thread). Peace.
fooxoo: Hi! Thanks for coming by! Not only poor me, but poor EASTERN EUROPEAN ARTISTS! They should be more respected! They work themselves to death, but hardly make a living! A shame...
The Peteboy: Yo Brada!
04-15-2005, 08:34 PM
Thx for tip! I keep an eye on your thread! Found it only yesterday. I read it from very beginning to the end! Sooooo much fun! Long time no laugh on cgtalk. Croshatchamastah, I admire your blocky approach. BRINGITON!!! Coppercolor it!
04-15-2005, 08:36 PM
I will do my best!
Thank you, really!
04-15-2005, 09:23 PM
:applause: Nem is kell mást csinálnom csak megnéznem 1 új rajzodat és máris újból jó kedvem lesz...! (nem véletlen, hogy Tiéd az egyik legnépszerűbb topic!)
keep posting, keep posting, keep posting!
04-15-2005, 09:36 PM
At least, this is the funniest thread on the contest!

great ideas! last post vas reallygot things to say! really entertaining topic.
04-17-2005, 03:28 PM
And thanks to everyone who passes by..I'll be working on some hand studies soon for that real feeling of being controlled by an upper force that in this case comes from the artist him/herself...
Kösz a biztatást, jól esik, Te is nevezhetnél Joe!
04-17-2005, 03:42 PM
yes, this is no more than a hand study, life drawing of my own (left :) hand,...
more to come...
EVERYBODY PRACTISE DRAWING AFTER LIFE!
that's an order! ;)
04-17-2005, 04:16 PM
Hehe, cool. Nice hand study and etching technique. You have very expressionist style even with your character. I'll keep checking back.
04-17-2005, 04:28 PM
Megörülök a rajztechnikádért!
04-17-2005, 05:32 PM
LOVE your style man!!! It is really heartbreathing^^
can't wait to see final :)
04-17-2005, 07:00 PM
hey dood nice to see you here again! and hopefully u can finish in time ;) :P
oh yea, really nice sketches and all cant w8 to see more
04-18-2005, 04:36 PM
Okay I'm sort of getting the final composition down...
Almost everything is in the compo I wan't but NOTHING looks like I want it to look like! Damn. I'm not clever with the tablet yet! So I'll go thru the whole thing again on paper.
1. The master hand above, doesn't look too strong!it's anatomy is unacceptable and the two pencils don't seem firm in the hand,
2.the guy is in a WIERD, WIERD, WIERD pose, but not like I want him! Redoing the whole posture that's for sure...
3. I don't know whether it's readable but the strings coming from above are lines drawn by those pencils...(wanting to mean I'm controlled by the love of art...)
4. the shadows are getting there, but definitely not final...see if you can take out everything...a few messages in there too...
5. In the BG a black something is THERE, but WHY? ...:)
for further information check back later!
04-18-2005, 04:45 PM
Arc80: thanks man! always need the feedback, I'm checking on your thread soon! Peace!
The Peteboy: Kösz Haver! Annyira élvezem ezt, hogy az már normális? Az hát! A legjobb, hogy dolgozhatok a fogyatékosságaimon! Fejlődni! Ihaj!
Thanks for the cheers, I'm needing them! Peace out Bro!
Neozoom: Thanks man (I have a style?!? :) never even knew... ) Glad you stopped by, will check upon your thread soon, peace!
daadaa: Yo bro! Keep the maths flowing, but don't let go of ya pencil 'kay?!
p.s.: I've got lot's to work on, cause I'm not satisfied one bit, but I'm posting anyway, cause even we can all learn from our mistakes, can't we?!
thanks for coming by and stay tuned!...
04-18-2005, 09:10 PM
Irígylem a rajztechnikádat! :)) Nagyon tetszik a koncepciód.
Nice concept, nice sketches. Can't wait to see some painting. :)
04-18-2005, 09:49 PM
Kösz valószínűleg feka-fehér lesz a kép, de, ha addig megtáltosodok még színes is szóbajöhet?
Thanks man! I'm aiming for the blackandwhite look, but who knows, I might just go crazy with color...
04-18-2005, 11:54 PM
Another two of these (didn't upload the third one it would be boring...)
I'm doing 4 of these per day! damnit! 3 on paper one digital, should be the other way around...
I'm liking the one on the right, more potential in that pose I guess...
04-19-2005, 10:06 AM
i love your linework, its really cool, nice perspective too, cool concept, a dude pulling his own strings!
04-19-2005, 01:44 PM
Today I'll be relaxing, I've gotten all hooked up with my image, so I'll just take a break for a day or two! Am going to work hard on the image I promise, but not today :)...
Celebrate good times, C'mon!!!
Love ya all...
04-19-2005, 02:02 PM
THe one on the right is looking good, but it would be nice to see his expression. Like the one you had with your earlier post. I think it will strenghten the mood of your piece and the communication of his emotion. Man, i swear, you and SPACESNAIL put updates everyday, which is really cool. Keep it up and i'll be checking as always.
Hehe, what a weird face you got there. Thanks for dropping by at my thread, btw.
04-20-2005, 03:15 PM
If I EVER go into colors on this piece I think I'll go with these colors, that is if I EVER...:) Nevermind the new elements on the piece, they're just there to confuse everyone, including myself, but really I'm not changing concepts or anything these are just splatters of color here and there...
04-20-2005, 03:34 PM
fricken excellent pa-lease go into colouring!
04-20-2005, 06:06 PM
szerintem érdemes lenne a színeket megcsinálnod, nagyon tetszik az a paletta.
(ez a keresztnevem, nem a Tamás... tudom, nehéz eltaláni :))
I think you should use those colors on your image. But it's just my opinion.
04-20-2005, 06:30 PM
DUde, i'm with them. GO use that colours. IT has a very nice impact and it feels very modern impressionistic style. This would be awesome as a huge gallery painting.
04-20-2005, 08:06 PM
That's it... the Force will be with you...
-majd arra figyelj, hogy mélységet is érzékeltess...
04-20-2005, 11:11 PM
Getting DEE-AAR-EYY-MATIC a bit, whaddya think? I'm scared of coloring, but who the "EFF" gives a "SHH"...
I'll try it anyway...
Peace, love 'n happiness to every being...
04-24-2005, 07:24 AM
I see your entry serves your passion in going for your goal.
Nice color....very goric...feels like a whole biological entity has exploded and blood and body parts everywhere....
Anyway...thats just what i see....cant wait to find out wut uve intended!!
04-24-2005, 09:31 AM
Paint and don't hink of it, my friend. Fear will pass.
i completely agree with lula_assassina
work forget about everything else and i am more then sure you will be happy with the result.
04-24-2005, 05:13 PM
LULA has a point there especially with your style. (NIKE commercial) JUST DO IT!
I think this is actually looking mighty SWEEET. You got a nack for colours, you just don't know it yet or you do know it, but it's just the fear that's getting into you.
Keep it coming man.
04-24-2005, 11:02 PM
Actually I'm sketching away for the right hand figure like hell! Still haven't found it on paper, but it's here in my head already...
04-24-2005, 11:08 PM
maranello55: Thanks and what I wrote in my PM I still think that! We won't give uppah! Nevah!
lula_assassina,Slav, Arc 80: Thanks guys! I love all your entries! So respect! No fear! No fear anymore whatever comes in my way, I'll try hard and enjoy it no matter what!
04-25-2005, 08:40 PM
Arrghh, I wanted to post something about my progress today, but I'm busy with studying stupid little statistics (maths) can ya'll believe it?!
I'm due to post the final-final-final line art this week or something. And I'l try to go nuts with the comp and the details...I promise...
good vibes to everyone peeps!
04-25-2005, 08:48 PM
Dude, you´re studying too much! I have a need to see your lineart milestone! :bounce: C´mon, bounce, bounce, c´mon give it to me! There´s not even a month left!
Your colours are brutal... I mean that. If you´we seen "Natural Born Killers", than you know what I mean. hehe... Nice texture on the last study. I´m hungry like the wolf...
practising does help tho :) !
04-26-2005, 05:47 PM
a facial expression here...
04-26-2005, 06:32 PM
i like the face, but i prefer the angle of ur previous concepts, this one is just, front view.
04-26-2005, 06:47 PM
I agree with NOOB!. The angle you have before is more expressive and dynamic. That's a really nice facial expression though and i dig the sketch a lot. Keep it coming
04-27-2005, 02:45 PM
Okay I decided to not be afraid of using colors, what the hell could happen to me after all?! I'm not 100 percent pleased (I think there's too much white here and there, but it's sort of coming along...
I hope I get a dramatic feel tho...
04-27-2005, 02:54 PM
colorus looks very unique,excellent!
but i still wish u wud choose another angle.
04-27-2005, 03:02 PM
It´s definately dramatic, there is definately too much white going on here and there and I love this however it is "just front view". This really convinced me. What I don´t like is the right hand. That really looks bad. Is that what you did all those studies for!!? ;)
Most aztán rugdoshatom magamat. Két nap alatt elérted a "coloring wip"-et én meg csak dumálok, miközben még a koncepcióm sincs kész:rolleyes: . Na, nyomultam rajzolni, szevasz
04-27-2005, 03:34 PM
 Thats it! It is looking great Adamos!
(a részleteket priviben)
04-27-2005, 05:27 PM
Yo, thanks for dropping by me thread and Website. Yeah, i was a chemistry major. I love that subject. Understanding chemical reactions and tampering with them is awesome. Later on i'm going to continue that and Archiology.
Anyway, Your piece is looking SICK!!!. I knew you have a good eyes for colours. The one you have really gave your piece an umph. It's overflowing with emotions man and please keep that loose, sketchy style... it kicks arse  BRAVO dude, this is one of me favorite pieces here laddy :argh:
Umm...if you don't mind, maybe i could get a wallpaper from you when you're done
cheers
04-27-2005, 05:28 PM
that does look sooo cool, cant w8 till u finish it :D
04-27-2005, 06:02 PM
well if u don't change the angle, that ur decision i guess.
however.why did u flip the image??? i'm getting a lil tired of everyone flipping the image just cos others are,i think it looked better the first time IMO,but ur decision again.
04-27-2005, 08:12 PM
Did I flip the image?! Never even realized Lol!
Actually I think everyone does it because sometimes things pop out when you look at it from a different view...
04-27-2005, 11:16 PM
Wow! Powerfull! :)
04-28-2005, 01:59 PM
Nice dynamic pose. I can't wait to see more.
04-28-2005, 02:43 PM
the colours fit in great!:)
04-28-2005, 09:32 PM
I'd REALLY want to communicate EMOTIONS in this message! I think that's so important! hope I'll succeed...
it's all about compositon, colors, and the message from now on, details can come later...
even the rough piece has to be crystal clear, cause if it's not the details won't get the message thru...
we're going from big to small...
04-28-2005, 09:34 PM
very dynamic colouring! great, keep at it!
04-28-2005, 09:38 PM
crazzy colouring (in a good way of course) and facial expression looks great, keep it up!
04-28-2005, 09:40 PM
Yo thanks already!
Noob, Lula, Pushav, Cali, Daadaa thanks a lot for the input, I'm trying to put a lot of soul in this whole project, your support really means a lot guys! Thanks.
Peace, peace and another peace,
04-28-2005, 10:52 PM
very unique & weird, is the main character started to dematerialize or something? anyway, I'll be back for more...
04-29-2005, 12:20 AM
well, that seems very promising ,c'an't wait to see more:thumbsup:
04-29-2005, 02:57 AM
Awesome colors and composition! The emotion is really coming through... Keep it up!
04-29-2005, 05:32 AM
His hand looks like Hellboy's :) Where is the master or the servant?
04-29-2005, 07:54 AM
Látod, elvontat csináltál: jeromo nem is érti... :)
-You can use bigger and smaller size brush at same time for the better depth-feeling...?
(lassan a fókusz pontot is ki kell jelölnöd magadnak...)
I love its colors and mood!
04-29-2005, 07:59 AM
egyre gyanúsabb, hogy van még 1-2 jolly abban a pakliban:)
yesss! that idea was a big step again...this trash feeling got something!
(but the marionett thing had sunk somewhere)
04-29-2005, 01:13 PM
HI Adamos, very powerfull and evocative picture. Emotion is coming through! Though the pupetting idea seamed clearer to me( sorry to drop this at this stage:D) .
Cool graphic technic too!:)
05-02-2005, 10:23 AM
im loving this....Nothing is worse than having an uncontrollable hand puppetting ur own self!
I think it is full of emotion...very rich....
I wish u can keep the eyes white....or the black rolling to the back of the eyeball.
A sense of unconciously being hypnotised towards slavery.
(Thats what ive been feeling every morning being dragged by this invisible string straight to the office.....:hmm: )
05-03-2005, 06:22 PM
I found what I want, thank heavens! I've dropped the drawing artist idea, it's back to the plain marionette concept nothing fancy...
I really believe I can make this image work, this is what I've always wanted: a composition that I like, from now on it's details all the way!
I've got so much energy left still!
05-03-2005, 06:24 PM
lol love the huge ass arm and hand
great work bro!
05-03-2005, 06:41 PM
arkinet: hi, thanks for looking by, the main character just got his body back in one piece, if he looks wierd, then I'm satyisfied! :)
punklover: thanks for looking, I'll be working like a madman on the rest, hope I get that final look I dreamed of....God help me! ;)
Octothreat: thanks, I've just changed the comp, because I wanted something even more dramatic, and I think I got it, ...(or not) but I'm happy with the mood of this one, so I'll get everything into shape for the final piece, thanks for posting!
jeromoo: thanks, that I'll take as a compliment! :) Hellboy's cool anyway...
I know on the previous picture the master and servant didn't really come through, but this last one will show you that the character is Master AND Servant at the same time...Ihope, just gotta get those ropes hanging well...
Thanks for all the HELP you gave me so far!
kacorkirály: Szevasz, kösz a hozzászólást, kapd össze magad, mert ez a két hét már nem sok idő!
Thanks for coming by! Peace
thierry2005: Thank you kindly! I really loved your piece, full of exitment! Good luck on finishing it, you're not far from the final image! I didn't drop the puppet idea, I just neglected it, cause it distracted me in the overall comp, but it's a very important element of my picture...;)
maranello55: thanks, I hope I manage to bring out what's in my head!...working hard! will do it!
Thanks for all the support guys! Really helps me BIG TIME!
all the best to each of you!
05-03-2005, 06:41 PM
Thanks NOOB! You've always been a great support, I'll check on your stuff soon!
05-03-2005, 08:09 PM
whoa...that's nice. Love the colours and definately dig the posture of the character. Very dynamic overall. TRES MANIFIQUE bro
05-03-2005, 08:15 PM
What a huge and dinamic coloring...! I love the expression!
(néhol majd még bontsad meg a vonalkákat, mert így sematikus marad a nagy felületeken...)
05-04-2005, 06:48 PM
Arch, thanks, I really aimed for the dynamics, have to be cool about everything from now on...
kornel: Kösz, igyekszem mindent szépen a helyére rakni, remélm meglesz amit elképzeltem!
Thanks, always good advice from you!
05-05-2005, 07:44 AM
Very cool pic, quite striking!
05-05-2005, 04:51 PM
Of course the final pic will be posted in portrait format...
I worked on the hand, the background, the anatomy of the dude, ...hmmm what else?...and minor tweaks here and there, I'll be adding an urban block of buildings that'll give it some "modern" feeling,...but I wont ruin it though...
okay, a couple hours of rest and I'll get back to it!
05-05-2005, 05:43 PM
very dramatic,luvin it still adam!
05-06-2005, 12:50 AM
I really must go down that two stairs in the nearest future...
05-06-2005, 10:05 AM
Okay a whole lot of things are undefined properly, the urbaN landscape in the right bottom corner is just THERE, it'll get better and it'll give the whole picture a more "nowaday" feeling,...
I hate the strings, no freshness in them although they explain the hierarchy, but not in the fashion I want them to...working on that (maybe I'll make it loose or something
I really had an interesting image in my head about how to illustrate the strings, but I'm not ready to do it today, I think it would really be striking though if I could capture what I had in mind.
The pose of the arm is a bit better now, don't even look at the anatomy, because it's sort of made up, some of it might be correct tough...
the sky and the left side is giving me a hard time, but I'm experimenting cloud painting right now, so...later on that,
I still love this project and will do my best to depict what I have deep down there...
thanks for looking
Hey Adam. I really like Your lineart. I´ll remember to check back and see your progress. Thanks for your comments on my style.

Good luck everybody.
05-14-2005, 08:52 PM

Hey Adam! Good to see another Hungarian in this Master and Servant challenge! :D Im so sad to found you just now...the challenge is closing soon. My brother, Mark (Tremoside) is in the 3D part. After all your work is amazing! I like it very much! I'm curious to see your final image! I wish you the best and good luck mate!
05-16-2005, 04:23 PM
Thanks really for all the support...I'm such an ass. I just had a couple of days of depression...ARTISTS BLOCK. I've really had enough of my latest image, absolutely no freshness in it for me, I've seen it too much, so I'll go for a walk right now and just clear my head and go for it. I really wanted to avoid uploading my image in the crunch time period, but hey that's how it is so I'll quit whining and I'm not giving up fellaz! No ways just need to rearrange things in my head...
Thanks kindly for all of your replies...
05-17-2005, 01:19 AM
Hope you are feeling better dude. Will be waiting for the finish piece my funky brotha :buttrock:
cheers and goodluck
05-17-2005, 12:19 PM
Excellent idea...
At you excellent the graphic-art.
It is a pity that it has not found a place in a picture...
05-17-2005, 01:42 PM
Hajrá Ádám! Rettentően bejön a kép dinamizmusa! Best luck fellow! You have great sense of mass and perspective! Keep it up! :buttrock:
05-17-2005, 02:52 PM

05-19-2005, 02:50 AM
Well, I'm uploading everything at once, cause I thought constant upload would only slow me down...soooo
The Gypsy King...
05-19-2005, 02:53 AM
05-19-2005, 02:56 AM
I just went for a trip with ink, if the concept isn't too good you gotta go hardcore on the execution, at least I think so...
so I tried...
05-19-2005, 02:59 AM
I just wanted to keep it simple...
so I did...
05-19-2005, 03:01 AM
well these are the details for ya...
05-19-2005, 03:19 AM
I'll comment this whole thing tomorrow, cheers!
05-19-2005, 11:29 AM
hmmm,well..its seems a waste of a great image there bro, this is great but i did prefer the dynamicness of the other.
but it was ur decision, good luck
seeya next time.
05-19-2005, 12:34 PM
:) :) :)
This is really cool and funny!
Great style you have.
05-19-2005, 06:56 PM
  aha...
Stílusa van, azt nem vitatom. De azért csodálkozom egy kicsit, hová tünt az a "bábús".
Sok szerencsét minden esetre ;) , drukkolok
05-19-2005, 08:48 PM
Hi everyone! First of all I' d like to thank everyone who ever came by this thread and supported me, it was a blessing, and real motivating! Thank You! BIG Thank You!
About my final entry: well, ...hmmm, how could I explain? I really tried hard to develop something interesting and beautiful, but I got totally hooked with the other concept...hooked, meaning too many posts, too much warming up, and eventually I got tired of the whole design, the composition would've been okay, but the details were killing me,...they just didn't click like I imagined it in my head. So I overestimated my skills I guess. But I have learned! I'm going to ART school! I'm taking life drawing lessons, and everything should just start tomorrow. I'm constantly practising so I'm determined to grow as an artist!
This final image just came from nowhere! Nowhere, i just started doodling, then getting into the details, and finally I ended up with a full page of illustration: The Gypsy King and his baboon.
I wanted to be the freakin' PROPHET of originality, and in the end I go with a pretty low quality concept, but hey, that's life, ain't it?!
So once again THANK YOU EVERYONE for the tremendous support! I loved it!
Cheers, until the next one!
Draw, paint, express what's inside....you HAVE to! ;)
05-19-2005, 08:49 PM
Thanks NOOB, pejot, Pete!
05-20-2005, 06:45 AM
Congratulations funky brotha. Even though you change your image (the first one is still my favorite), you still did a great job. Very original as always.
cheers and see you around
05-21-2005, 10:11 AM
I also was a bit surprised to see your final image. Would have been great to see the puppet concept in full bloom.
I also felt the same thing that you did, judging from the coloring wip phase that the idea lost a lot of steam and dynamic. I think it was a good choice to change it at the end.
This one is not so original concept wise, but your style carries the new image really well.
Ever thought of doing a collaborative project someday ?
- a (web)comic ?
- a short animation ?
I'd be interested to work with you.
Thx for your comments on my MS piece.
05-24-2005, 05:29 AM
Good picture. I liked it.
05-24-2005, 06:30 AM
very cool charactter designs, love your toony attitude! congrats on your great and funny final piece! bes of luck and keep on rocking!
