View Full Version : Tape...digibeta output?? Im confused!!

Hi...Im starting my own vfx and cgi studio soon....I was hoping to get some info on output for commercials.

Do I have to invest in tape drives,digibetas, etc.....to transfer work out of the computers...if so what is the best low cost solution?

It really depends what your clients are shooting on and what you have to deliver on. Thing is you will probably need both a digi-beta and a beta deck, also a minidv and possibly even a dvcpro deck. One that records as well as plays back starts at $5-7k new(beta), and 7-10k(digibeta). You can always start out by renting them when you need them($150-$300 a day).
