The mail I got from CGTalk reminded me of the commitment I made at the beggining of the challenge, so here I go with a late but "dynamic" start. :)

These are the elements I'll use to assemble my composition. The next milestone will make a bit more sense.

You'll see..... :)

I want to keep most of the linework so I'm not going to overpaint too much.

Colored with photoshop.

Now that the color relations are in place I'm only going to experiment with a few hue and saturation shifts ubtill I get what I want for the finaly image.

I was hoping for some comments before I submit the final.

- interseted in your opinion of the color scheme

I don't have much of a back story, it's more like a situation that is free to be interpreted.

I'll give you one possibility here:

- The Delorian desert tribes have long had the tradition of capturing Twinklets. They use the small voiceless creatures to form vital waypoints in the endless flatlands of Mandas.

Twinklets emit intense warm light when they thirst for the cool fountain waters of their homeland. As the thirst grows they slowly burn from the inside, becoming ever brighter, until the final days of their agony. Only ash is left, after the final falre.

Delorians say Twinklets are the most beautifull when they are dying. They also mention one of their own, Tinnor, who fell in love with a handfull of ash. Some even say that the sands of Mandas were once golden not the burnt grey of our days.

Lookin pretty cool... I first thought he was a servant to time which seemed fitting given our challenge guidelines. I like it, look forward to seeing this come together... hope you finish! :)

Talk about lost in the crowd.

And what a crowd it is, here at the 2D challenge, really great artists and pieces.

Spent 3,5 hours yesterday just browsing through the artwork already submited.

CGTalk really is a HUGE community. :) - in all aspects

Hi Ati!

Great metaphor you got there! We are always slaves to time, I'm trying to avoid his by developing a descent schedule...but I constantly fail to do so...:) Nice aproach, great colors, congratulations!

További minden jót!

I double Ádáms words:thumbsup: (Just to avoid being a servant of time ;) )

peace, pete
