hey been looking at these for a while and never thought i had a good enough idea to enter one. But the Master Servant idea is the coolest chalange i've seen here so i thought i'd give it a go

Well finally got around to drawing the concept. This is really just the design of my two characters; a power hungry general and a peace loving giant. The actual composition is in no way depcited here. Giant design was inspired heavily by a blizzard character design i think it will evolve into a diferent character over the course of the project.

LAyed out the scene. Heres the basic premise. A giant sits on a hill top detached from the world admiring the a small animal in the palm of his hand. Behind him stands his commander a General, and below them lays a city in ruin which they have just invaded. The General is there to make sure that the Giant does not run off. The Giant is an invaluable asset to the army. Although the Giant dislikes war he has no intention of running off as he knows he cannot escape the war filled world he lives in. He is content to simply spend a moment away from war and among nature.

my thought - i'm missing emotion in the scene. some tension or conflict. maby if we could tell the giant hate war by the relationship with the his commander General. you could strengthen the contrast.

keep it up :)

now that i look at it i see what you mean about the emotion. I noticed alot of the inspiration pices have the master putting his hand on the servant's shoulder. Well this is going to prove to be impossible in this scene so i was thinking of having the general resting on the giants foot the way he is with the cane and having the giant looking over at the hand in anger/disgust.

well this is about the final for the head. The cracks are the only significant addition but i think they add alot. The only thing that could possibly be added is some moss coming out of thos cracks. But i'll add that when i add the rest of the moss
