Hello!

I'm creating a 4 minutes long animation of a robot, commiting suicide with an electric screwdriver. It would be great to get some c&c before I start animating the robot.

At the moment I have a rendering time of approx 45sec, which is acceptable.

Created and rendered in 3DsMax

-------------------------------------------

thescen.jpg - The whole scene, will not be used in it's full size in one frame. The quality is decreased to match the file size on this forum

lnumber5.jpg - The robot rendered

lmorph.jpg - Removed, check out the morphtargets further down the page.

Hi,

I like the style you've created, certainly suits the mood of the piece you are doing. The background has a very solemn look too it, and is nice and grimy
The robot has a suitably depressed look about him already, which is great, I'm starting to feel sorry for him already
I can't see the morph targets in any detail so sadly can't comment on them.

4 minutes is long time, have you storyboarded out the piece yet? I'd be interested in seeing what you've got planned.

I'll post a part of the storyboard as soon as I get my scanner running again (should be in a couple of days).

I've also added a better render of the morphtargets, I'd appreciate comments on those.
Note: The robot is not supposed to talk, just sigh, look bitter and drink oil.
