View Full Version : muppet-style animation
I've never seen a muppet-style 3D-animation so I did one:
coco.avi (http://213.60.67.69/bao/cg/cocofinal.avi)
Update: and this is the final version: cocofinal.avi (http://213.60.67.69/bao/cg/cocofinal.avi) (better lighting, better blur and some clouds)
In spanish groover is named "coco" :)
Update: There is one great muppet animation here (http://www.joeytomatoes.com/muppetsovertimeoriginal05.mov) so I am not the first :banghead: but... wait a moment... I think I am the first doing a muppet-style-color-animation then. :wise:

Hi Bao2, looks like you are on the right track, the movement is pretty spot on.
Are you gonna do more?

Looks just like a muppet. You did a really good job with that jumpy muppet
movement. :)

cute animation, he looks like a hopping muppet, hehe.
i was wondering if you were planning on adding the poles that connect to the arms on muppets. it might be cool to put a detail like that to really push us that it's a muppet :)
i might make his head bob a little more on the walk, it looks a little stiff at the start, well at least i think so, but i'm known to see imaginary people, so i'm not sure how valid that is ;)
keep it up!
Thanks to everybody!. :)
sumdumguy: Just now I have no time but in Summer I want to do a minute short with
more characters.
nuclearbum: yes I was doubting very much if include or not the sticks what drive the
hands and after I forget about them. I want include it in next animation. Yes, at the
start the movement is no right because I rendered from frame 0 instead of frame six
or so.
I've added a second link in the first post to the finished animation.
I added a light so now there are four lights surrounding Grover.
Now I use 12 pass camera blur instead of image blur, with rendering
time of 3 hours 55 minutes for these 55 frames and there are
then 55x12=660 images (20 seconds each).
Also added some clouds and fix some skinning problems, and now Grover
has poles driving their hands.
At the end of the animation Grover moves his right hand to open a
door, so it's not some animation problem.
Hairfx, Character Studio and Max were used. :)
the link doesn't work for me...
come on show me your....muppet...
