Title: Storm At Sea
Name: Robert
Country: Netherlands
Software: 3ds max
I am allways interested in the elements of nature.
Here I tried to create a wild ocean during a storm.
Made in 1 hour in 3d Studio max 6.
Rendermethod: Standard
The trick is in the advanced material, lots of (animated) smoke and noise maps.

Looks cool, nice material work!
Reminds me of a tutorial from creating the elements books, had a really nice finsh to it like yours, good work:)
maybe you should try Maya, it have preconfigurated oceans, wich you can edit at the channel box... (it comes with maya 6 and further versions i think)

Looks pretty good. A bit more spray and perhaps a bit of rain. This is not just a sea in action but the atmosphere would be doing things aswell. Wind and rain would put the sea in the state that it's in. Unless this is the after effect of a storm.
Very good job on the water.

I can't upload my movie because I don't have enough webspace.
So instead I will post an image of the adjusted sea soon.
Ciao :)
