hey guys - currently working on the models, but to give you a little outlaying concept read the following:

(EDIT) Rethinking Concept.

Might as well give you guys SOMETHING :)

This was one of my original Concepts, but I dont think I'll use it:

as for the rest, well... you'll just have to wait for me to update it tonight :)

Rockets anyone? I'll be making the nose (the craft itself) in an hour or so after I get back from the mall.

Great job so far. Luv the lighting on rocket 1. Have you considered doing a night-time launch?

Thanks Pix.

alright time for bed http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif Here you go though:

The NOSE of the craft is the RV while the rest is the lander and life support system. The nose you saw earlier in the thread is the "cover" for the lander, it's boosted away after rocket reaches space.

next comes the uber-detailed high res textures for this lander http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif That'll be fun!

Looks very nice indeed.

Can I ask what software you are using?

How goes the animation / effects?

Ahhh! You ran out of Bandwidth!
Might want to look at www.powweb.com (http://www.powweb.com/) for hosting…
Cant wait to see the test… Ill try again later 2night.

I've finished the sequence seen there (with ALOT of camera tweaks) but no-where to upload to :( Anyone got some space I could use? Contact me via MSN or ICQ.

man u r doing really nice stuff.
well let see how;s going ur launching? and yes ur one is based on hard science.if i know and a(also it;s a basic knowledge and imagination) that ship must have three or four or one rounds (i don't know exact word sorry for my bad english) around the earth after that it will take some boost and get to try to reach to the moon than it can use moon gravity to make landing.but that's what i know.

well i see ur ship how comes from earth.......really nice.......and can help me........:)

BTW, where do u can get sound of rocket launching etc.?i need for my carrier plane?or is it okei the entry without sound?

Justin... this is looking great...

First a minor quick crit... I think the camera should stay locked on the earth for 2-3 seconds longer at the begining of the shot... that's it so far.

I can record an audio session for a voice or two... PM me with a couple male "scripts" and I'll try to record some this week.

admiraligor

Yes, a total of 2 revolutions around earth's orbit should allow it to pick up the speed required with engine bursts every 2 mins or so that last 5-10 seconds. However, that will not be included in the animation due to time requirements. As for the launch, nothing to see right now really - need to model the Launch tower and such.

yeah i totally agree with u. i was also thinking to show it.........but now i m not gonna show it coz it will take 365 days to seemy movie...............

I agree, but with me being the CEO of a productions company that mostly does space visualizations, I've done it before... takes about a week when models are already made.

anywho, updates:

Wow. Seriously nice model there Justin.

I love the surfacing you have on the moon shot. What renderer are you using?

The Earth looks a little odd though. I can't quite put my finger on it but it seems very uniform in specularity. Kinda like a billiard ball.

For those? I use max'es defualt scanline... but for the final stuff I use brazil R/S

Great work man! This is really going to be a nice when finished. Sorry I didn't offer something more constructive, but I think it's all really looking great so far...nice detailing, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing your final!

I've done more work since this render, BUT the 12min render times arent exactly pleasant.

My thread's not currently active, but I am... unfortunately I am not getting as much accomplished (as quickly) as I had hoped. There's still so much to learn!
