femal
interesting ...
Please post an image though.
VERY good work. As her brother Eichan is, who's in the same www folder as her ;)
They remind me of René Morels figures. Might look just as well when they're textured.

Wonderfull work !!
Could you please post some some close ups and wireframes ?
THose chains and neck area are great but at such a distance it's hard to enjoy the amount of details they seem to have.
I have a few litlle crits though :
-the head wear seems to fit too closely to her head ( like it's part of it)
-i don't know if it was intentional ( and well it's a wip ..) but there is a certain "hardness" or maleness ( very very slight but still), in her jaw line and her cheek bones: but then again, could be just me : she has a wonderfull determined look in her eyes :)
wonderfull work anyway (although i'll probably get shouted at again for my lack of constructive criticism )
Cheers !!

Thank you for all your critics, it's encouraging :) , Pascal, your work is magnificent too! .that's' a personal work which has no report with amazonsoul.it'strue that she has a male look, but i like it,(matter of taste) :bounce: .
I hope that somebody says to me that it is the younger sister of nathalie portman :wip:
here is a wireframe...

Whoa! Excellent work stuzzi. Gosh, how long did this model take you to get it to this stage? Could you post another low poly wireframe before it is smoothed @ different angles. This control cage must be witnessed to be appreciated. Keep up the great work. You deserve every star you get stuzzi.

I use Max for this modelling.
I spend 5 days to stop finding the design and modelling. To me the design is very important,it gives them more life...
the wireframe above is cleaned by a kind of subdiv.I d'ont like wasting polys :annoyed:

tight work.. great proportions!
She really reminded me of Natalie Portman at the first clance.
I have only one crit.. to me, the face looks too symetrical, which makes it look too perfect. It will probably not have much effect on a final (textured) render, though.

thanks for critics!
I used several images which represent women with the personality whom I wanted to give.indeed Nathalie Portman is one of them:thumbsup: .the both sides of the head aren't welded yet.they are still instanced,That can explain why they look symetrical!

I work in 3d since my born but officially 3years.Working actually on high details characters in a french Studio. To me,the experience don't determine the skill of a artist.Just need to have good observation, then the techniks could be learned everywhere at school or at home.

I agree with you with what you said about the artists. The difference between an artist and, huh sorry but..., a technician (I'm exagerating a little bit but u see what I mean), is that the artist's aim is creation, and the technician'aim is techniques improvments and performances. Xp is of course important to make the difference between an artist and a good artist. :p

Actually, looks like she could be an older sister of Natalie Portman... ;)
First off, really nice ear, which seems to be hard for alot of people to do. I like the chains alot, as well as the realistic, somewhat hard features of her face. Makes her look like a real person. The headpeace looks like it needs to be seperated from her head more. Wish I could see more images of this, half aren't showing up. Great work, keep going!!!

Hi Stuzzi (et encore bravo) I totally agree with you about mere observation and true skills, the characters you've made so far have a big personal style, keep it. I didn't have a chance to get the 2 wireframes you've posted, the links seem to be broken ?? is that normal ??
Good luck for your job. Good to see there are still French studios where qualities and artistic views really matter.
ps peut-etre que tes images marchent en local mais ici je n'ai pas les liens de la page 3 sur le wireframe sans le meshsmooth ;-))

I wonder if somebody knows how to modeling slender mats of hair.this result don't satisfy me :hmm: For this case,i use the shag hair plug.I find it intuitive but isn't Meticulous enough to do this kind of modeling :shame:

You could use the Squaresoft / Final Fantasy approach and hand paint alpha strips , it gives the hair a very stiff look though , but if done properly looks pretty good !! ( you can see this effect used in the final fantasy 10 movies ) I work in low poly field so I am not familier with the techniques for creating realistic hair , maybe look into the techniques used for creating Aki's hair in final fantasy it was very realistic . :buttrock:
Your model is extremly well done and your work with shape and form is masterful !! I can see you have a true eye for anatomy . The head piece is beautiful I really like the design I am excited to see what you will do with her body . :airguitar :applause:

Only a question: what material are the shades supposed to be made of? It's merely a practical question... that helmet doesn't have any wrinkle, every material bends with a similar shape... or anyway it must be made REALLY hard to resist to deformation... Suppose she falls accidentally... i think the shape of that helmet can hurt her. But surely it all can be supposed to be surreal and you can easily avoid these problems ;)
stuzzi
12-17-2002, 06:42 PM
When i design her cap,i tyr to imagine a kind of semi rigid material. In this way,it could follow the shape of anyone's head. The body is not modelled yet,but she will have certainly a armor on her back and her breasts. So,She can't be hurt by that ;) .But...maybe someone else
...damn!!! she's very realistic!she's dangerous like all the women
