Hey, did anyone ever find a fix for this gizmo player error?
Julez4001 did you ever get it working??
I've got Magpie and can't seem to get it to work! Ack!!

No.
I just hand-animate in messiah instead of using magpie.
Works great for LW[8] though...

Sooooo...
Messiah offers yet another fabulous feature thats D.O.A.??
And I just spent $250 buck for nothing?

I'm not following you.
MorphGizmo works.
I had a problem loading certain objects, this wasn't a universal problem.
Also with magpie, watch your setup.
use single layer objects.
MagPie has LW6 support now so Gizmo is long in the tooth and every one has moved on.
matter of fact, split your objects out and do a setup for morph gizmo
then use endomorphs and do a setup and you'll see, the lw6 is faster.

Okay, now I'm not entirely following you Julez, sorry.
Here's my experience: When I try the sample gizmo scene included with Messiah -- I get the error. When I load my own gizmo files -- I get the error.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not set on using gizmo files, but I am desperatly hoping I can use Magpie with Messiah somehow, since Magpie makes great use of voice recognition (fast, first-pass with facial animation).
I tried exporting from Magpie as a Morph Mixer file and using SuperBlender but the docs say: "MM Import: This asks you to select a Morph Mixer motion file. Once the file is sleected it will attempt to load in the motions to the relevant sliders. Note: This feature is not finished this yet, right now it only does the first slider."
I can only pull in the animation for one track (one endomorph)??

So Julez4001,
If I hear you correctly, endomorphs are faster than gizmo -- got it.
BUT, if I export a morph mixer file, Messiah Workstation still can't handle them.
Then what?
ps. thanks for your help on this.

LW 7 MorphMixer files worked with SB but then when 8.0 came out they changed the file structure and Messiah hasn't updated their SB Loader (Mark Wilson:POINTOVEN) .
If you still have LW 7 and LW8, you can read the docs on how they made the changes and you might be able to edit the MM file (its all text) from 8.0 standard to 6.0-7.0 standard.
I've got accustom to lip syncing by hand in Messiah
by mixing bones and morph targets as a separate scene and baking out the deformation (head_hero.mdd)via pointoven. Sorta like its own Magpie (sure you don't auto sync features, generic phenome library) but i like the freedom that bones and other deformers give me to exaggerate faces.

So, if I've got this straight...
I'd use Magpie Pro to create the facial animation, then export as Motion Mixer...
Pull that Motion Mixer file into Lightwave, export it with Mark Wilson's PointOven Pro...
Then import the LWO object and the MDD file into Messiah Workstation 2.2? Is that correct?
Will that still allow me to animate the rest of the body (as well as a head null)?
Mark Wilson's website doesn't really describe all that much what PointOven does or all the options for using it.

If I can get older [L6][L7] Motion Mixer files do I still need PointOven to bring them into Messiah?
"MM Import: This asks you to select a Morph Mixer motion file. Once the file is sleected it will attempt to load in the motions to the relevant sliders. Note: This feature is not finished this yet, right now it only does the first slider."
It seems that the two issues at hand are:
1. How to import MDD files into Messiah
2. Once you do import MDD files, can you animate the rest of the character?

Thanks Julez4001,
From all that you've given me, I was able to piece together a working sample.
