View Full Version : Textures All Stretched Like
St8ic 03-20-2005, 01:18 AM I made this HUGE model in Wings3D. Then I UV-mapped it by projection. The problem is that the model is so big that no matter what I put on the texture map it's all stretched. I think tiled textures has something to do with it. Help anyone?

Another detail: I've seen other models like mine (.3ds) where the tiled textures are in separate 128x128 bitmaps.....

Actually that model was long since deleted.....see these huge models are used for maps and that one was just temporary for testing the engine. But the point is that I want to avoid this for the map I'll be using. I want something like this:

Yes you do use several smaller textures to repeat instead of one giant one. For the ground for example, grass and gravel, use one texture with only grass, one with grass on half the texture and gravel on the other half, one with only gravel, one with a gravel corner etc. They should all be seamless. Make sure all polys are the same size, where they use the same textures.
