Hey guys...
long time listener, first time caller.
I am currently working on a set of animations for a TV series called Pig (there are 4: Snow, Ski, Moto, and BMX) for RUSH HD on the Voom network. (yea, if you've been keeping up on the news, yes, Voom is been a little... okay a lot shaky the last month, so keep your fingers crossed for me will ya?)
Anyway, the concept of the shows are simple, a competition (each show has four riders) and every round a trick is pulled from a deck of tricks and the riders have to do it, or they get a letter, if they get 3 letters (P.I.G) they are out. Its basically the childhood game of horse.
But before each trick, there is an animation that is shown to show the audience what the trick looks like, and what are the elements of the trick that need to be completed in order for it to be deemed successful.
Since this job is pretty much my 'big break', I really want to excell on it so I thought I'd post a WIP and try to get as many comments/suggestions as I can. So please critque away.
So I've started doing the models for the Snow/Ski sets, which is my second character animation I've done. The first, being one I did for the Moto series, which I was not happy with and am going to redo.
Here is my first two afternoons of work, I have the board, the boots, the bindings, the pants, a jacket, helmet, goggles, and a ski mask (figured it was easier then making a realistic looking face).
I have only applied very basic textures, mainly just to give my wrinkles highlights so I could easily see them. Aside from things you see that could be improved on as far as modelling, anyone who has any suggestions about how to best texture the clothing, that'd be great too.
I next steps I have planned here are wrinkles on the jacket, the gloves, and then detailing/texturing. Then finally rigging.
Thanks guys. Nice to have finally posted here.
