max comes with some rigged characters, have a look at the scene folder, and you could also load one of the finished character tutorial files.
here you can find a free rig: http://www.brad-noble.com (http://www.brad-noble.com/)

Hey, I made a free LowMax rig, it's on my site. www.3dluvr.com/clisk3d if you want to take a look. It's similar to LowMan for Maya in controlls

shifty_uk: use the R_IK_Leg_Controll & L_IK_Leg_Controll to move the legs. the rectangle under the feet doesnt work, you can unfreeze those and link the IK_Leg_Control dummys to those shapes but as he got all the ca's stored in the dummy, you can also use the dummys to control the leg and the foot.

harmonic01: thats a nice rig. one thing i noticed is that if you move those Leg_Controls to a kick position, like one leg on floor and the other one straight forward, the leg twists.

EDIT: nevermind harmonic01, figured it out. it was becasue of the position of the swivel target - its too early and i need more coffee :)

Hmm, for some reason I'm not getting any e-mail notifications. :-(

Thanks for clearing thigs up Olli96 :)

Yeah, L_IK_Leg_Controll and R_IK_Leg_Controll are the once controlling the leg. The squares at below the feet are just there for my own preference but now I realise they are totally unnesesary. Also, the reason I have the dummy at the ankle, is because you can rotate the foot around that point and if you need to rotate around the heel, well I have a CA for that. So, shifty_uk, give it another try? :)

Thanks for the help guys but i cant seem to find L_IK_Leg_Controll and R_IK_Leg_Controll, i've selected everything on the model and nothings called L_IK_Leg_Controll or R_IK_Leg_Controll and nothing will move the legs at all :|

btw, im still having some amount of trouble trying to save my Animations, can someone please contact me on MSN and walk me through it? kane.htid@gmail.com

Thanks!

They control the feet not the legs

you can also use them to lift up the leg, i guess harmonic simply stored the ca's for the foot there because this way you got the ca's right there to control the foot when you move the leg.

hmm, maybe I should change my e-mail here, I only find out about this thread updates when I go through my web site logs. heh.

Yep, olli96 is totally right. The dummy is there to move the leg around (don't forget about the swivle angle helper to controll where the knee is pointing) and I did store CA there so that you won't have to select something else to controll the foot. :-)
