If anyone has the money to spend... I highly recommend these...
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000AOV3M.01._PE10_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AOV3M/qid=1111439120/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/103-4294678-0480634?v=glance&s=dvd
5 Discs... all on the History of NASA... Pretty much old videos that aired on TV they just put to DVD.
and....

This is the best $25 I ever spent. Really REALLY in depth, on the Space Race, and Race to the Moon... TONS and TONS of footage, plus modern interviews with Mission Control peeps and Astronauts.
And of course... pick up Space Cowboys and Apollo 13.
and a quick Carl Sagan plug, if I may..

Oh man, I'm having more fun researching than putting this FXwars together.
I don't know if any of you have heard of this, but I just found out about this..
Laser and Microwave Rockets... using light and electricity to ignite air, creating a means of propulsion...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/115375.stm
http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/115000/images/_115375_rocket150.jpg
Would be something really cool to do for this FXwars... it gives of a peircing blue strobe light... and hauls ass!
Also... here is a form of Microwave/Plasma Propulsion...
