Im sorry if this sounds like spam, but i have a hard time getting anything to look like anything when im modeling. (i use blender) For example, i tried to model a watch, and it turned out more like a flaming hula hoop. I have no clue what im doing wrong, and when i look at the 3d stills gallery, i see people are doing some amazing things. I cant model anything really complex ethier. i tried to do a human like thing, but...it didnt turn out well.
Also, im trying to do a tute thats just pictures..not turning out well:

i get stuck at the third picture, the guy magicly transforms the cude into a sphere, then the refinement looks hard too. I really need help, and any help is greatly appriciated.

Hi Penguin,
In the third picture the "guy" uses the subdivide command, wich divides each poly in four polys- this is available in most 3dapps. The rounding appears automatically. I'm not familiar with blender but I guess you'll find it there too ;)

Im going to have to investigate this command, it seems it could help me model complex things.....
How does he keep making it more and more detailed? i cant do that.....

A wise man once said "Why worry about the Big things when you can't handle the little things"

But here is a link that will help you grow as a professional http://cube.phlatt.net/home/spiraloid/

Thanks a bunch. Im trying to do this:http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials/polgun/gunmodel.asp
but it uses too many 3dmax specific functions that are not in blender.

im checking the blender website....
(3 minustes later)

ok, i was going to do this:http://blenderman.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=20
but i cant find the blueprints, so now, im going to try this:http://www.linuxgraphic.org/section3d/blender/pages/didacticiels/head-subsurf/didac1-ang.html

or just fall back to these:
http://biorust.com/index.php?page=tutorial_detail&tutid=77&lang=en
http://biorust.com/index.php?page=tutorial_detail&tutid=81&lang=en

and for the advanced blender user whos reading this, this:http://jlp.nerim.net/tutorials/hands-modelling/hands-tuto-01.html

looks interesting.

Thanks for your help
