Hi all.I have problem render my clips in mpeg1 format.Any idea or plugin?I am using after effects 6.5.What i do now is output uncompress and then use tmpeg encoder to do it.double job:sad:

You could check out TMPGEnc (at http://www.tmpgenc.net/). It's an stand-alone MPEG-encoder. I'm not sure about the quality of it in comparison to other applications. But I guess, that using a stand-alone encoder for MPEG-conversion, would be the best bet in general.

I have AE Pro 6.5 and it came with the Main concept Mpeg encoder which does Mpeg 1 and 2.

First off all you need the CODEC mpg1 installed on your computer without a mpg1 codec you can not output your render to a mpg1 file


try to find a codec first and install it on your computer maybe that will help you

Mpeg1 is not "just" a codec like DivX or Sorenson, it's an entirely different format.

Get TMPEG like Tommi said, it works like a charm. :)

Thanks guys! AE 6.5 pro comes with mpeg1 encoder?From what i know there is only mpeg2 ?

:) TMPEG is cool but sometimes I find the quality not that good.

Tmpeg isn't bad, mpeg 1 is bad. That's just in general. It doesn't give you really great quality. That's just how it's going to be. It's also very difficult to get good quality out of it and still have it playable on cd's or even slower computers
