View Full Version : 'The End' Production Diary - Need feedback!
Hey guys, I'm a C4D user working on an animated short with another artist. Just thought I'd hit you up for some feedback. We've been toiling away for just over 2 months on actual production, but it's been in pre-production since last August. It'll be a short comedy about death, death and death. Sounds hilarious, don't it?
Check out our Production site as well, we're chocking it full of stuff to look at and read, and we try and keep it fresh on an almost daily basis.

Firstly I love the concept.
Secondly the Cake scene, has already got me laughing so please post some more stuff. Oh and when do the worms come into it?
Thanks droidoz & Caine607. We're definitley going for subtle humor, so it's good to know some of that is poking through, even at this early stage. The Worm comes in about a third of the way through, but there are plenty of other creatures and unexpected senarios to keep the audience guessing and laughing (hopefully).
I just posted a new render of one of the sets... so check it out.

Hey, the livingroom fly thru is looking good, i was going to say something about the roof, but then I read the text. One question, there are two doors, does that mean there will be more rooms? Maybe a bathroom or a room with a bed in it. Just wondering...
Keept up the good work guys:thumbsup:

From what I've skimmed through, this looks great. Concept is solid - I'd love to see more!
PS - it would be great if you posted highlights of your progress, images + movies in this thread instead of having people find your link, visit and dig through. ;)
There won't be a need to model any more rooms other than the main living room. The action that takes place in there will be subtle and short, then we're on to bigger and better things. But there is still a long way to go in order to get it to look right. The fly-thru has no lighting and no real texture happening, so I will have to post another image or movie soon to show where we're going with it.
I will post some more in this thread tho, so look for something shortly.
THANKS!

Sorry for the xtra large image, but I've posted this one over on our movie diary site at HD resolution (1280x720).
This is the latest attempt. Mind you the lighting and textures aren't finalized yet. Especially his face and clothes... the textures are going to be completely replaced in a week or so.
Oh, and I'll soon be adding his eyebrows and hair.
