maxwell??
no mental ray :p
http://www.imodesti.com/mies_test/cgtalk_interior_test/prova1.jpg
this is a little test with mental ray and multibounces
i'm testing different methods for the multibounces, i hope to write a tutorial in the future
in this test i'm using only one light, the multibounces works fine!
25 minutes for rendering, what's the maxwell rendertime? i'm curious ;)
ciau :scream:
mat
how did you get soo much noise with mutibounces? is it post process? or what are your FG settings?
pleaase tell me more mb methods:scream::scream:

ehehe yeah, i'm using very low radius... this produce high quality of light distribution (a la maxwell), but sooo much noise :p
now i'm trying to refine my render ;)

10min for rendering

Wow! dagon1978, multibounce looks really great! I love it! :)
(I spot just 3 identical problems...I think there's light leaking behind the
radiator , in the uper right corner of the image...and the column outside)
But over all:
It's very very very nice image in very short time...
Hope can see your tutorial soon :)
Maxwell did the image (posted up) for 1h 30min, but it was my first test with this renderer...may be render time could be optimised...
dagon1978, could u tell me what is your light setup? How do u imitate sunlight and skylight?
if it's possible can u post the settings of your lights :)

no problem, this is a very easy setup in maya 6.5 ;)

yeah, i think the multibounces have some problem with light leaking (but i dont know if it's a fg problem or a surfaces problem, because i had many problems to import this scene in maya)
can i use your scene to make some other test? :) i like it, good modelling work ;)

10x, dagon1978!
U use onlu FG?...no GI?! About the leaking problem...did u try FG fall-off distance?!
And, yeah, feel free to use the scene! I am curious to see your future results with MR 3.4!

only final gather, setuo is very quicky
i tried the fg falloff but... it doesent solve the problem... i think to use a little touch of occlusion ;)
now i'm setting up some material...

yep ;) dirtmap does the trick
i think the multibounce have some problem with the secondary bounces, i'm searching a solution to this problem... maybe the scale value can help...
now i'm pretty busy, but in the next week end i can make some other test ;)
this is the maya scene ;)

Can you render one scene two times? : 1st. with multibounces, 2nd. without multibounces, all other setting, must be the same.
