Theres lots of good bargain books at Barnes and Nobles that show machines etc. Those are great reference to model from. I tend to model mechanical objects the way they would really be built which is usually from parts. :)

Amen, Splinegod! I just recently discovered the joy of the bargain tables at book stores. I managed to pick up five big books filled with images for the same price I would have paid for one of them when it was new. And, honestly, if you can model from a reference you are so much more likely to turn out a better model than if you sit back in front of your computer and go from nothing (unless you are REALLY familiar with your subject). The last bargain book I grabbed was an anatomy for artists book. $5. Borders. Gotta love it.

Thanks guys. Learning to model has proven to be an uphill struggle because I cannot jump in knee deep like I want to because of other freelance projects. I am mainly a graphic designer and web developer. But I am slowly cutting the umbilical...:)
