Slow Motion With Mini DV

Premiere Pro seems to do ok, also if have something like a Matrox RTx board or other NLE hardware they provide really good slow motion / fast motion resampling.

I image most other editing software also gives you a clean slow motion these days. Combustion 4 also now include time remapping and it's sweet.

yup, Windows and MAC OS.

I doubt you will get useful slo-mo without After Effects and Twixtor (or Realviz Retimer) plugin... :)

actually Combustion 4 will include Time Warping built in, spline based also. you can actually draw the slow down and speed up with your mouse.

there is a video example on the above page. it's great, and it's included, no more twixtor cost.

by the way thought, twixtor will run in Combustion.

Combustion 3 now is a very stable program. I use it all the time. v4 adds a lot of new features not avaliable in After Effects or other programs in the 1000$ price range. Sony used it on Spider Man 2 for doing roto work. some effects people took their work home with them on laptops using Combustion 3 and they could work while riding the train. then at work transfter that into the Flame / Flint / Inferno system.

Using the fields, cranking interlaced DV footage to 50% slow motion in After Effects is a piece of cake.

Just right-click the footage file, choose "Interpret as", and choose deinterlacing.

In the comp window, time-stretch the layer to 200%. Voila.

Of course, you'll want to deinterlace all your shots then, or your slow-motion shots will stand out as the only non-interlaced shots.
