I have a problem in Photoshop CS on my machine. My brush strokes don't seem to want to show up. Even if I create a new document, and pick a standard brush nothing shows when I use it. The History window shows that the Brush Tool was used, but nothing is happening on my layer.

I don't have any selections defined, and the layer isn't locked at all. Have I somehow switched into some sort of mode that causes this? Any help would be appreciated.

That sounds like some setting somewhere has be changed, and is causing this problem.

Where to start looking is anyone's guess.
Have you tried switching around the Fore/Background colours when painting? Just to see if anything happens.

The quickest solution here may well be to either rename or delete your PS Prefs file and let PS create a new one from scratch. Shut down the app and do that. Then restart it and see if it helps. If not, you can always delete the newly created Prefs file and change the name back on your old copy.

That's the first thing i'd try. :bounce:

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't change anything.

It seem that it was reacting strangely to my Wacom tablet. I was using the Wacom mouse, and the brushes weren't painting anything, or more likely they were painting but with a pressure of zero. When I got the pen out it painted fine, and then the mouse started working properly too.
