I have been working on a really cool project. Its a scripted system to generate an animate vegitation on a landscape. You can see some tests/demos here: http://www.theworldisgrey.com/mayaLand/

Before i release this publically I need a collection of well moddeled plants. I used the xfrog public plants, and well, i most of them had WAY to many polys to render quickly. So, im looking for a good modeler who would like to contribute plants models to the project.

Ideally the models would be well optimized and reletivly scalled to each other. Nurbs might be best as they can use adaptive tessalation.

If you can help me, let me know.

You could use maya paint effects!

They are brushes convertible to polys but brushes are faster to render
See an example here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=210643).
Advantage compared to Xfrog: lighter, quicker, differently duplicable ( just change the seed value to get another plant ) and animable (wind), etc...

It's possible to render and compose them through the Z-channel.

The point of the project was not to use paint effects as they do have thier limitations. Thats said, for my demos, the tulips were a converted paint effect.

Nor do paint effects work with my script.
