hey

congratulations for a wonderful forum everyone involved.

i am doing an animation that involves a character falling off the top of a tall building.
what i want is for him to fall through several levels of pertruding cloth with each one breaking his fall until the last one, which dosnt break but nicely cushion his fall.
using reactor, does anyone have any suggestions for how to get the cloth to antually tear.

any comments gratefully appreciated..........kanE.

Since nothing is real in CG, just fake the effect. A simulation approach is rarely going to give you the right result quickly with lots of control. Doing it by hand (animating a split in a patch for example) gives you more overall control.
