The stock car was modeled 100% in Blender,
then textured and rendered in Strata, afterwhich
it was hauled into After Effects for compositing stuff.

The total animation, which is 75MB @ half res., lasts about 10 seconds. This will be used for all of the FOX59(Indianapolis) Nascar events throughout the year.

I'm not a car modeler, so any feedback or constructive nagging is definately welcome.

cheers,
Dickie

Not bad, Blender huh, get Fox to spring for some software! =) On the crit side, it could use a little more detail, sharpness. The side windows look like they need a little scaling up, and the tires need a little work. I've never used blender, freeware right? Excellent job considering the tools you have to work with!

hmmm, I'm not a nascar fan. But...dosn't have the cars black painted headlights?

I never seen side-windows (there at the door), are there realy windows?

The Car looks like modelt from box, with Subpatches.

Not much textures on the car...why not more sponsor images?^

And the wheels...ahhh...If the client like that... ;)

The Job budget wasn't that big, heh?

OUCHHH!
Wow! You guys burned me.
But that's cool. I'll keep the feedback in mind when I revise the car.

HA, HA! We actually have Maya, but truthfully, I totally feel more comfortable in Blender and find it more than adequete for the work we do.

>>>>>The Car looks like modelt from box, with Subpatches.

It was modeled from a box, subpatch style.

>>>>>>Not much textures on the car...why not more sponsor images?^

I was told to keep it simple and only use local FOX logos.

OUCH!!!! I actually had about one working day to get it modeled and textured. TV is very fast paced.

Thanks again.

well for you requirements it looks fine,, but how about a little better lighting setup,, it seems very flat right now,,,, maybe put a white pannel in the sky above and putt some falloff in the reflection,, see if that adds more dimension to it..

anyoo looks very nice,, looks like blender is getting more used than I would have thought..

I went to your web site and...
...Holy $#!%
Your cars are amazing man.
In the next animation I'll be sure to fix the lighting.

Thanks!

For the time constraint that is great work, you didn't mention that earlier, just trying to offer constructive crits. =)

This is old stuff, but here's a gander at some photoshop work
I did for an NBC affiliate in SLC, UT:

http://www.geocities.com/dixfactory/design.html

Everything there had to be knocked out super quik too.
Usually between 15 minutes to half an hour.
TVs crazy fast-paced.
