Title: Stegosaurus
Name: Marcel Laverdet
Country: France
Software: Carrara, Rhino, ZBrush

hello!.. it's a new version, all remodelled, of an old 3d I did in the first time of zbrush... it's "about", of course, the photos of Eadweard Muybridge, wich are a classic base to learn drawing, and a great moment of photo art... crits welcomle, of course... especially, I hesitate to make the photo "older", with scratchs, but it fight with the grid in background...

Fantastic work, really like it. The model, the set, the texture and the presentation are all perfect.

But i only give four stars cause of tiling textures on the wooden floor.

Great job though

Well, I reply to almost every Dinosaur post...I guess it is a hobbie of mine.

I like your idea, and it is a pretty good dino too...One crit though, I dont think Muybridge used Fugi film. I could be wrong, and I often am.

Very nice! It doubles in greatness just because of the Muybridge tie-in. As for crits, it really seems like the plates on the back and the spikes on the tail would look more realistic if they had a kind of lip around them; a sort of ridge where they begin to protrude out of the hide. It also looks rather young, but if that's what you intended, then you nailed it.

Post more terrible lizards!

Jason

Wonderful work indeed!

I don't know about ageing the "photo" - but perhaps you could break up the grid a bit and make it less perfect? In the original Muybridge photos the grids are quite blurred, showing a more fragmented surface. This would perhaps make the image a bit softer but hey! It's so damn good anyway - keep bringing us some more.

looks very nice, especially the skin texture.

Nice idea. The stegosaur isn't accurate by modern standards, but I think the old style fits the piece.

Great texture work.

Dude you have to animate him in the ol' Muybridge fashion. Sweet stuff!

The image has a lot of personality. I agree with you that the dust and scratches could interfere with the back ground on the wall, but the out side of the photo looks old and beaten with the inside appearing to be clean. Maybe a few subtle scratches could bring the two peaces together. Anyway, I really like how this image came out great job the dinosaur came out great.

Really nice work, I love the look, although it makes me think of very realistic graphite rendering rather than muybridge (except the background). Muybridge, in addition to the grids also shot almost exclusively in bright sunlight with very poor optics. His shots all have a sort of odd soft quality to them which I think was caused by bad lenses.

That said, I prefer what you have to a more accurate rendition. Very nice looking shot. I agree with the above comments about the tiled floor.

Very nice, the only crit I would have is that you can see the grid through the stegasaur's horns on its tail. That and a couple of the plates on the back seem to be running transparent also.

Other than that it's a great job.

Ha! This is sooooooo obviously fake. It says Fuji on the negative, but of course FujiFilm didnt exist in the 1880s. You fools!
