Hey everyone,

This is the first time I made a character, textured it, did setup and started animating. I did an animation test back in 2000 of a character, which was just joints being rotated and sucked harder then a hole in a plane. Then in 2004 I did some basic animation tests with LowMan (Nice script for doing quick animation tests) and besides that it was pretty much it... I did do setup in production, so that's better known to me... although I like animation better.
This semester I'm teaching character animation at school, so I figured I needed some practice... Hence the character, who I named George btw...
Theres a bit more I'd like to do with setup but it's about 99% done, I used some very cool Jason Schleifer methods and I' starting to like working with it very much... enjoying animation allready...

Now, here's an animation test I did: "That's Right" From the movie Ocean's Eleven, the scene at Ruben's Lunch... I'd really appreciate some input, some corrections, comments, crits, whatever... you can even say you hate it, at least I'll know it'll need work :) I know it's short, but in the morning I'll be ironing out some more mistakes in setup and do some more tests.

Ok, that little test was probably not long or good enough to crit on. Yesterday I did a rather skippy run cycle, I rendered it last night and wanted to post it today.

Hope to get some crits on this one.

Nice! Very funny animation.

My crit, you have such extreme timing and in-air poses, try to take that same style into the landing/takeoff. It seems a bit stiff in context with the other poses.

Great work!!

I think more offset keys and secondary motion should be done for the hands and arms, great extremes though as far as posing goes, but hes a bit stiff in the arms and I think that could help it out. (and hey derby, how come you havent answered my pm ;)

Hey,

Thanks for the replies, I will probably do another finetuning before I put that runcycle in anything more official. Untill then I'm prepping more for my classes, here's a bounce cycle :)
