Does anyone know what would be the best way to create a warp effect? Say close to the version of star treks? (colored stars).

the easiest way for this again is in post, by making your stars as points from an emitter and then using a radial blur from the point of movement in after effects (and layering a few times to bring up the brightness) you should get the effect you want. then you just have to animate the ammount of blur to match the speed increase of your "stars". to make the stars go faster simply render up to a certain point at like 400fps from c4d, then after that point render at 30fps.

alternatively you can use tube lights with visibility on as particles providing they're moving fast enough you should get a decent effect, but it's difficult to animated the change from static to warp speed. (this is purely how to do the stars)

->mdme_sadie ... with all the talk of third party development in the last couple of days...I think C4d is certainly getting there...A lot of top CG plugin developers are making them available to Cinema and this can only be a plus for us all. As ever these things take time.....damn....I need plugins NOW! heh heh.
