I have lines connected together. How do I move the pivot point to make a radial array?

the tut shows something like this:

Every object has pivots automatically, so that part is all taken care of.

Under the Hierachy panel (next to the "Create" and "Modify" panels) you'll find the buttons you're looking for.

Pivots can be bitchy at times, there's a whole slew of options for rotating objects around pivots, virtual pivots, other objects pivots, pivoting around world space, etc etc. Nothing too hard to grasp given a little time though :)

"Tools" menu -> "Array..."

"Radial Array" sounds like a situation where you want an object copied out in a circular fashion. This is an ability the Array tool can do.

I think for basic questions, you could hit the F1 key, all the basics are covered there. :)

Thanks, my question has been solved just through this online reference. Sorry, I won't posts basic questions anymore. :thumbsup:

Hi Xilica, no need to be sorry, just wanted to give you a tip. It's probably quicker to look through the help files, than to post and wait for a response!:) :beer:

Just a quick idea for you, poly-model them. Make a cylinder object, give it a say 18 sides, 3 height segments. Make it so it looks like the outer part of a rim in scale. Next, select every third polygon along the inner row of height segments. Extrude them .2, then extrude them enough to get near the center of the rim, then .2 again. now you should have a basic 6 spoked rim, without the center part, but from there you should be able to figure it out. This is just a basic way to do it, you may need to adjust depending on the detail and type of rim, hope that helped! Use meshtools if you have them!:beer:
