View Full Version : Slow mouse in Maya 6.0.1

He guys,

When I startup Maya (this is an 3d modeling program), my mouse becomes very slow... And when I exit the program or just minimalise it my mouse acts normal.
Does anyone know how to change this, I have an ati radeon 9800 pro videocard.

Is the mouse just slower moving, or is it slower and choppy? as if there is some kinda of technical problem. If it's just slower moving then it is probally a program specific setting in your mouse settings. For my mouse I can change the settings so that in Maya the wheel button works as a click instead of a scroll. Depending on your mouse, you can probally change change the mouse speed per program. Make sure to go online and download the latest drivers for your mouse (mine didn't have this per program functionallity untill I did that) and then see if you can change it there.

It just moves slower, not choppy. I have a logitech premium optical mouse:

I've downloaded the driver and installed it but I can't change the speed per program, or change something to let it move normal when working with maya.

Go into the mouse properties, go to the Motion tab, and uncheck "Disable acceleration in games." That solved a lot of my 3d app problems. Of course the side effect is that your mouse is gonna be faster in games.
