I am looking for a method to model what looks like a bunch of cylinders squeezed into a larger cylinder (see attached). The larger cylinder (container of the other cylinders) is round, but the cylinders on the inside are to look squished as if they are soft.
The kind of solution that I am looking for is one that involves actually squishing the cylinders as apposed to modeling them as squished cylinders from the start (such as to draw squished circle splines and loft them).
More specifically is there a way to model that one could take two objects and move them together, having them squish together like clay but stay as two separate objects. Using reactor to do this seems tedious.
Another similar challenge that I am facing would involve making the larger cylinder look like there is rope tightly squeezing it, causing an indent in the cylinder. This would look similar to tying a string around your arm tight.
I am open to any reasonable solution using Max 7. Any help is most appreciated!
