View Full Version : My First Animation...Hi Joe!
kefenatorjr 03-11-2005, 05:49 PM This is my first short animation I have done this was a school project that I did a little extra work on that wasn't needed. I'm fairly new to the Animation world and could use any feedback that I could get!

Hey, looks pretty good. I like the piller movement. Only the part were the camera comes to a comlete stop is a little strange. After it stops it takes a long time before the piller arives. You might change this point of view to keep it more interesting.
Keep it up!

I think what would make it better would be when the bug goes behind the leaf and the camera stays still if you had the leef dip down as the bug begins to climb it....ti help keep peoples attention and makes you aware of what the bug is doing before it cones back into shot

hey Chad
Sorry it took so long to get back to you but i was busy looking at all the GOOD work on this site. in fact i hate caterpillars, not fond of leaves either...they're too... green, and that chirping sound god what were you thinking. Since I'm trying to be cruel I'll make up some way to humiliate you in front of the class Thursday or Monday. and if i'm too busy i'll have Matt do it.
On a serious note
all the advice of those who posted before me is what I'd tell yaa, especially the leaf jiggle idea. the only other constructive comment have is dont rely on the bells and whistles of maya to create a scene paint effects is fun and quick, mental ray can give you decent results fast but these don't make you a better modeler/animator. learn 3 point lighting and make it look good using software rending and suffering through making and UV'ing afew plants because that is how you improve, there is some star wars thing about the "quick and easy path" and something about a "dark side" but star wars refs or more Matt and TJ thing then me.
and lastly i'll say this,
i've been lurking at this site for years and you still had more courage to post your work then i ever did when i was a student.
not that any good teacher ever considers themself as something other than a slightly more developed student
Later
