View Full Version : very simple problem :) GI..URGENT
jedrzej 03-11-2005, 01:47 PM Ok the prolbem is : How to make 'interior' lighter! ?
I saw that i have to change in photons max trace depth to 9,9 and sum 18
but nothing changes ! i can put 100 and nothing changes..so what should i change more ??
who can save me ? please!!!
mental ray...

Put an inverse decayed & attenuated(?) omni in the box. Or even just a ground plane to reflect energy.

ok doesnt work...
of coure works omni ... but this is too simple :)
And my photon thing doesnt work...so how to reflect energy ?
but this is too simple
You must be young.
There are many settings, what about energy multipliers?
Architectural materials, final gather...?

a couple of things.
Global energy multiplier, don't be afraid to play with the value of this. Depending on the scale and desired effect you could end up using anywhere from the default value, up into the thousands. This setting helps give a "bounced Light" effect.
I would also suggest some sort of ground plane, and a sphere(encompassing the entire scene) with it's normals inverted to make photon calculation quicker.
Oh, and adding a photon base to the mental ray surface slot of a material will also help control how light affects things.
