View Full Version : Modding computers for 3D
buhlerks 03-11-2005, 07:28 AM I have been looking around some other sites, and I noticed alot of people doing mods like silencers and blowholes, fans, liquid cooled- all kinds of crazy stuff. I was just wondering if any of my fellow CG artist/renderers have any of these? Are the worth it for our kind of work, or is all that just gammer stuff?

Cooling, like fans, liquid coolers and such are only necessary if your having heating issues. It's not just a gamer thing. If you run your computer at stock speeds, generally you won't notice much of an issue. However, overclocking increases the heat produced, and so more cooling is necessary.
People here use it, just as gamer's do.
