Money is the main issue, without it, you give no idea of what people should discuss..you want two lcd's, that alone can cost you 600, or 1600. People will need some idea..also, if you do a search, there are quite a few threads with people asking for advice, you might find browsing some of those helpful.

Thanks for the reply, OK, let's say less than 10K including monitors and workstation. I did try to do a search under some keywords like "New computer" that came back "New" too common to search for, so the results only searched under "Computer" which had to do with a broad range of topics, none of which pertained to my query.
I was hoping someone could say some quick advice, like: get these processors, look for this motherboard, this graphics card is top of the line, network card, mouse device, etc.
Lastly, we would like to go with a RAID hard drive system, up till now, I've only heard what RAID does, I've yet to set up a system with it...any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks.
Oh, BTW, I am using 3dsmax 4.2 under Windows 2K only for the 3D work. I wont need to upgrade any software, except maybe to get a new renderer.

RAID wont boost your rendering or UI performance at all really.. Not anything noticable. It will, however, help speed up load times. But thats about it. Though, if you work with lots of large video files on a daily basis RAID 0 is great for temporary storage of video. Of cource you want to move files off the RAID 0 array as soon as you can to safer locations..
